Good News! My Tax return stimulates economy!

The Bad News is:
It’s goin’ to Visa for the ‘economic stimulation’ I performed about 10 months ago.

How are YOU spending it?

We don’t have ours yet (still waiting on some paperwork) but we plan to sock away enough for our Key West trip and put the rest against debt and savings.

So, we’ll be stimulating, but not until June.

Well since I didn’t work at all last year, I ain’t getting shit. But because I didn’t work my mom can claim myself and the baby so she’s getting back like $4000 more than she would have. I get like $400 of that lol So I think I’ll just put it in savings. I know, that’s the fuddy duddy route but…what can I say?

I thought I’d get some new clothes, but then I got my statement from Firestone. They were kind enough to give me a credit card when my new brakes ended up costing $1500 bucks.

I noticed that the interest fee is now double that of the minimum payment required.

Bye bye, refund.

I’m still waiting for a tax statement from one investment company.

Beyond that, I’m not getting a refund this year. I’m going to owe – many, many thousands.

I am still waiting on a W-2 from the company I worked for for three years that went bankrupt last year. It doesn’t look good. The company closed up and there is no way to contact anyone at all because they no longer exist. I have been in contact with all my former co-workers and no one has received there’s yet either. I know it is not considered late by the IRS until after the 15th of Feb but I still don’t think it si coming. Towards the end they hadn’t paid any of their vendors at all, including ADP, who was doing our payroll.

My taxes came out just about spot on - I owed the Fed a little over $300 and CA owes me about $150. With our fine state budget situation (insert gigantic eye-rolling smiley here) refunds will be delayed so I don’t think I’ll see that $150 for a while. If a check showed up tomorrow and I felt like spending it…probably a new pair of running shoes or a trim router.

Half of my tax return.

You could always get the necessary info from your last paystub if you still have it. And if you do your taxes online they don’t make you send in a W-2. At least, I’ve never had to.

I haven’t gotten my refund yet, but I’ve already spent it. After having three car repairs in two months, I decided to invest in an extended warranty for my Scion. I’m not so worried about car problems anymore now that I know I won’t have to pay for repairs.

Of course this means that my car will be in perfect health for the next 5 years/71,000 miles.

Our combined return is going to be big because we had some changes in our financial situation this year. About $2500 will go for the second installment of our property tax bill, we’ll each probably spend a few hundred on toys we don’t really need and the bulk of it will go into savings.

How funny - I just looked at my bank account and the biggest return was deposited today. All of a sudden spending some doesn’t seem so exciting. I can’t think of anything that I need.

I haven’t sent in my return yet. I imagine I will get a small refund. It will go in the bank. No time to spend money. Too busy SDMBing and working.

You got a MR2?

Probably will get a bit of a refund.

I’ll probably use it to build a new desktop since the old laptop is starting to wheeze and the old desktop is about 7 years old (still running nice, but rather, erm, underpowered when talking about modern gaming).

tax refund irs going to tax payment real estate.

What’s it going in?

Eh- we never get refunds, we always owe them something.

Me too, I have never been a big fan of giving an interest free loan to the government.

I think the $12,000 I sent to the IRS last month will help some bank CEO fuel up his jet, or buy some new office furniture.

I’m probably not getting muh back this year. If I do, it will probably go into savings.
