So dad got out of surgery about 40 minutes ago - they’ve removed the right lobe of his liver, so now he’s all left (har de har.)
I guess liver failure is a risk in this sort of situation, and that would be very, very bad for everyone involved. Dad, 'cus he would have no liver, and me, 'cus of course I would have to give him part of mine (he doesn’t qualify for an unrelated donor).
So, if you kind folks could find it in your hearts and minds to send some healing vibes, or good thoughts, or prayers or candle lighting or whatever it is that’s done in your particular belief system for a man you’ve never met, the father of a woman you’ll most likely never meet, that would be awesome.
Obviously, dad isn’t super important to any of you, but he’s awfully important to me and I would really appreciate it.
We’re not a religious family, but it can’t hurt, right?
Alice prayers and good thoughts headed from south GA for your dad, and also for you and the rest of your family. Like MrBusGuy said, if he’s important to you he’s important to us. That’s just how we dopers are.
Glad to hear it’s going well! Prayers and good wishes for continued healing and good pee. Hmmm, I think that’s a personal first in the prayer department.
