We have slow days at work this time of year, and I’m always looking for new websites to read. Especially ones that just have tons of original content sitting around. In fact, that’s how I found the SDMB at first, because I read through most of the master’s back columns when I found them.
Two good ones I’ve found are:
Dan’s Data , which has 400 or so long product reviews of everything under the sun, mixed in with a lot of just interesting stuff to learn. You could spend weeks reading this.
Acts of Gord , which has tons of cute tales written from the snotty perspective of a video game store owner. Think Comic Book Guy on the Simpsons.
Anyone have any others?
If you like medieval literature, there’s lots to read at this site:
http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/sbook1.html
One of the most amusing I had found recently was:
The Bastard Operator From Hell Archive
The lengthy original saga of the BOFH. Definately the tech side of tech support. Taken to the nth degree…
A couple of good sites that provide summaries/links to dozens of interesting articles:
Arts & Letters Daily - always something to read here
SciTech Daily - similar, but concentrates on science and technology, obviously
FURIOUSLY REASONABLE
http://www.furia.com/twas/
Can’t think of any others right now.
I humbly submit my own site (in my sig), even though it’s not all that large.
www.ptclan.00server.com - that’s my and nhl7890’s site, lots of content, and funny if I do say so myself. Of course, YMMV.
www.seanbaby.com (go there now!)
www.bad-candy.com (under consruction, but will return soon)
www.snopes2.com

Oh yeah I forgot about these two. They are pretty damn funny, IMHO
www.cockeyed.com - Home of How Much Is Inside? (ie. shaving cream, coffee, keg, printer cartrage)
www.totalobscurity.com - The page you only find by accident! (Come to think of it, I don’t remember how I found it!)

Oh yes, MsRobyn ! Lilek’s is definitely one of the best reads on the net. Great stuff there.
This site is another one for many hours of hilarious, fun reading as well.
