Who the hell are you??
I thought I knew all the Bushco reps on this board.

Remember what forum you’re in, folks.
Cajun Man
for the SDMB
Indeed, Cajun Man. I apologize for my unseemly remarks earlier. They are not appropriate for MPSIMS.
Fare thee well, Doctordec, wherever you may roam. Peace and blessings to you.
I never go into GD, but that was a pretty interesting thread.
Fifty bucks says he becomes a semi-regular lurker here.
Well, in true DoctorDec™ style he departed as he posted. He’d start a thread and then NEVER come back to acknowledge anything.
So, the argument has been made that the media has a liberal slant.
The argument has been made that these boards have a liberal slant.
An easy 70% of the people I know are essentially liberal.
So…is it only the conservatives who care enough to vote?
Makes me wonder about the corner of the US you live in, Sami41; that 70% of the people you know are liberal. That, or you only hang out with the libs, and don’t associate much with us 'pubs. With a few odd pockets here and there, it’s generally quite the opposite over here in Texas.
As for your last comment, I would say that seems to run cyclically; for a period of time the democrats control most of congress and the white house, then the republicans, then it swings back and forth.
I actually think the day is rapidly approaching when a female libertarian (or at least an independent) will be president, and change the whole shebang, definitely for the better, imho.
Uh, no, it doesn’t. Your local version of the City Paper publishes the Straight Dope column through a syndication agreement with the Chicago Reader. The Chicago Reader owns all publication rights to the Straight Dope and Cecil Adams.
And I find it kinda unseemly that so many of you folks would take the opportunity of a member’s departure (a member many of you admit you don’t even really know anything about) to take shots at his backside. Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves. I’ve actually met the guy and think he’s a pretty decent sort. Unlike some of you are showing yourselves to be.
See ya, Doc.
Perhaps if he hadn’t left with a “Nayaa, I can’t stomach ya’ll so I’m going to troll somewhere else” you’d have a point. But that’s not what happened, is it?
But didn’t you get plastered in Paris?!?
Mebbe. But, it seems to me the doc is saying that he can’t stomach the Liberal slant the boards overall seem to have acquired. He’s not pointed out anyone specifically that he’s fed up with; he’s not made the thing personal. Which is very much unlike some of the very pointed and personal barbs being slung at his backside. And what makes you think he’s headed over to troll the other boards he’s mentioned? He’s been here well over 4 years and has no history of trolling. What makes you think he’d do it somewhere else?
It’d be amusing if this was his most successful thread.
UncleBeer-I see no reason to be nice to someone throwing the “I’m taking my toys and going home!” hissyfit because his politics can’t withstand the Liberal Hordes™.
I’m still not sure which slant was making the OP’s stomach turn. He wasn’t especially clear on that, was he?
And if the OP chooses to clear any and all matters of confusion up, he’s got 3 days left to do it in. As for the barbs being slung at his backside-- well, he presented his backside to be spanked-- I can’t see what other type of response could be expected.
I’ll say this… the guy really knew his 18th century loom manufacturers.
MPSIMS-type, I suspect.
I didn’t think I said anything particularly unfriendly about DoctorDec (especially my first posting). It would be nice if he’d come back here just to acknowledge something. But it seems that was never his style.
Horse-hockey. Docterdec refused to acknowledge the work of William Radcliffe and his seminal book Origin of the New System of Manufacture, Commonly Called Power loom Weaving (London, 1828). Nobody, but nobody, who knows 18th century loom manufacturers can do without that manuscript.
You obviously have possession of the infamous Winterdale version. Sir Walter Winterdale was discredited shortly after the publication of his version by none other than William Radcliffe himself. Add this faux pa to the “unfortunate incident” between him and the Lord’s daughter, and Winterdale was run out of England, never to return.
It is the further volumes that correct the English Loom Controversy that Sir Walter Winterdale created.
Me.
He told me it was Marrakesh.
