Goodbye dear Karlovy

Sorry to be a buzz-kill at the end of the year but yesterday we had to put our beloved cat to sleep.

Surely there is now a place in the kitty hall of fame for our great tortoise-shell houscat.

We will miss her:

  • bringing little gifts to our bedside every night.
  • meowing us awake on Saturdays because she needs to eat.
  • keeping our pool deck free of dangerous lizards and leaving their (usually) dead bodies at the back door.
  • helping to keep the house bat free.
  • greeting all visitors at the door, and insisting that they pet her before commencing any buisiness or other tom-foolery.
All of these are ordinary cat behaviours but they were very endearing, I’m a bit overcome by her passing.

Aww. hugs

I love cats and I’m always sad when a beloved cat dies.

Aww, I’m sorry, Labor. :frowning:

i really, really hope we get to see beloved pets again, when we die, as well as human friends.

I’m sorry to hear the sad news, torties are so pretty. I’ll give my guys extra scritches.

I’m sorry, Labor. It always seems unfair to me that the little guys can’t live a decade or two longer than they do.

I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a beloved pet is a deep sorrow. Sending supporting thoughts your way.

I’m sorry. Thanks for giving your cat a great life and a peaceful death. Torties always seem to have a big ol’ personality.

I’m so very sorry.

Thanks for your thoughts. We still miss good old Karlovy.

As a tribute to her we had a memorial night on Saturday. She loved tuna as many cats do we we enjoyed tuna-noodle cassarole while watching “That Darn Cat”.

That’s a funny movie.

We also enjoyed looking through the photo album and seeing all the pictures that we popped up in over the years. What a good little cat.

Just in case anyone cares: She was named after the town of Karlovy Vary in the Czech republic. If you ever have a chance its a wonderful town.
