I just updated Windows Explorer to version 7.0.5, and now the Google home page won’t load. I can get to the news page from another website. Has anyone else had trouble getting to Google from WE 7.? any advice?

Can’t help as I use Firefox, but somebody will soon.
Are you typing “Google” into the address bar, or are you clicking on a “search” button?
Hmm. It appears you have forgotten to download the essential update from IE7 to Any Other Browser v.Any.
(Sorry. I’m in a bad place when it comes to IE.)
