IE Questions

We got this computer back in September, and it came with AOL. We used AOL for a while, but eventually started using an ethernet connection. I prefer to use Netscape when browsing, but I have to use IE for some school things. My problem is every time I try to launch IE, it gives me this stupid screen. I have have tried uninstalling everything that remotally to do with AOL or Internet Explorer, but to no avail. I have downloaded and installed the latest versions of IE 5 or 6 times, but that doesn’t do anything either. So, my quesion is, does anyone know how to fix this so I can use IE. Thanks.

The link you gave indicates that you wrote a web address subdirectory under http://www.yahoo.com If that’s what you did, it’s merely telling you that the address doesn’t exist.

If that came up merely by clicking on the IE icon, it means that that’s your home page. Did you, by chance, make that your home page? Go to the tools, Internet, and change your home page to http://www.history.com which is what I use, or anything else (that’s valid).

If neither of the above applies, I don’t know.

After I posted, I went back to read your web address. You undoubtedly know it is: http://www.geocities.com/slackerboss/stupidthing.jpg

BTW, then, it is not a Yahoo site but a geocities site, and they don’t have a slackerboss stupidthing.jpg. Have you tried typing in a different address? Or does that come up all the time?

I’m sorry, I wasn’t clear enough in my OP. The link it was supposed to go to was a screen shot of what pops up. I have since relized that I could call Gateway and have them help, which is what I did. I thank you for your help, and ask a moderator to please shut this thread down. Thanks
