All of a sudden, the font on Google in Safari on both my iPad and IPhone is considerably larger. The odd thing is if I follow a link, then hit Back, the font goes to the correct size, only to go big again upon searching again. I’ve tried deleting my cookies, force quit/rebooted, and my zoom is at 100%. I also tried updating the os version. The font on web pages is normal. This is driving me bonkers. Even if you don’t know how to fix it, might you know where the problem must stem from if it’s happening on both my phone and ipad? Thanks in advance.
Just wanted to add, whenever I delete my Google cookie, I get one normal search before the font is big again
Do you have “Share Across Devices” enabled in Settings > Safari? Maybe you’ve only been changing the setting on one device but the other device is overriding that setting with its own? Even if Share Across Devices isn’t turned on, have you checked both devices at the same time to make sure the zoom level is 100% on both?
I mean, it sounds like a zoom problem (even though you’ve checked it) but the cookies part makes me think it could be a Google thing. Do you use a Google account? If so, is there a setting at your account preferences page that will change the font at google.com?
Thanks for responding. I don’t see that setting under Settings/Safari, might it be somewhere else? I do see recent searches on my iPhone on my iPad. Thanks.
When I delete the Google cookie I get one normal sized search before it goes large again, plus if I search, go to a link, and hit Back, the font goes normal. Any idea why that would be?
What version of iOS are you using on both the iPhone and iPad? Are you signed into a Google account?
Go to Settings > Safari > Page Zoom on both devices and tell me what it says.
I actually updated to the latest version to see if that would fix the problem. The issue occurs whether or not I’m logged in. The zoom is at 100% on both devices. Thanks.
