Google is getting fucking annoying with its "art"

Agreed. It seems anyone can get one.

I’ve got a nun taking a dump today.

Wow, that one is really cool.

Love that!

I like the art, but I hate the animations (I hate all animations on web pages–I’ve got flashblock and turn javascript off just so there won’t be animations).

Is there a way to kill the animation and only leave the image?

Turn off Javascript on the Google homepage. Installing NoScript will make this easier.

Missed it. Any permalink?

I can’t get behind the Google art rant, but I still stand behind my hatred of its tab icon from when it first came out. Bring back the G that wasn’t terribly colored and arranged!

I can’t find a permalink, but the Washington Post has an animated screenshot of it.

Thanks. I wish Google would keep a repository of all their logos. They’re cool and hard to find afterwards.

The Martha Graham animation is currently on google.com if that’s what you’re talking about.

Ah, I didn’t realize it was still up. That’s why there’s no permalink yet. They do keep an archive of old “doodles” here but they don’t archive them until they are off the main page.

Heh, one of my theater professors emailed all of us with the subject line “GO LOOK AT THE GOOGLE HOMEPAGE RIGHT NOW!!!”.

It was high priority.

I hope you replied with “What’s so special about watching a nun taking a dump?”

Not 2 hours before my final, I’m not.

I generally like the google doodles, but yesterday’s (uh, make that Thursday’s) moving one kept freezing my browser for some reason.

I was annoyed by the Canada election day one, but that’s because it showed US-style voting booths (a full booth with a curtain) instead of what we have in Canada (a cardboard shield set up on a table).

That’s what Arizona precincts use too. I think the full booth and curtain is just supposed to be iconic.

Yeah, but of the wrong country (sort of like showing a Canadian courtroom with gavels and lawyers without robes).
