Googling for Opposing Opinions About Something

Is there a way to google for content that is opposed to the idea that you’re researching?

For example, Harry Potter: a google search for “Harry Potter” would give me plenty of commercial information (official website, movie trailers, links to book retailers, etc.), and plenty of fansites. But what if I wanted to read the opinions of people opposed to Harry Potter (I don’t, but you get the idea). Is there a way to accomplish this through google?

TIA

Googling “Harry Potter” Witchcraft comes up with a lot of promising links. I think in general Googling anything with a high-level descriptor of the major complaint about it will yield some negative sites, who will in turn link to others.

Not Googling, but you can also look if the subject has an “Opposing Views” category at the Open Directory.

Examples:

Arts/Literature/Children’s/Authors/R/Rowling,_J._K./Harry_Potter_Series/Opposing_Views
Society/Organizations/Student/Fraternities_and_Sororities/Opposing_Views
Health/Alternative/Opposing_Views

These categories are sometimes named differently, e.g.

Health/Medicine/Evidence_Based_Medicine/Criticisms_of_EBM
Society/Lifestyle_Choices/Veganism/Criticisms_of_Eggs
Business/Allegedly_Unethical_Firms/McDonald’s

When I am using Google, and I want to find negative viewpoints on some subject, I just add the word “sucks” to the subject. As in “harry potter sucks”.

Using the search term “anti harry potter” (in quotes) I got more than 9,000 hits, many of which looked relevant.
