GOP Presidential Debate

What if they held a debate and nobody came?

I made it 6 minutes before I couldn’t take it anymore. Anyone watching? Anything worth talking about?

Kinda fun watching Rudy squirm on abortion.

But yea, say what you will about the Dems, their debates are far more entertaining.

I thought it was supposed to be on Fox News?

Ronald Reagan President Bush The Reagan Library

Giuliani 4 0 0

From CNN.com’s ticker.

MSNBC.

I can’t believe how much time they’re spending on abortion. The Politico questioners were SOOOOOO not interested in abortion.

McCain said ‘yes’ to federal funding for embryonic stem cell research! Color me surprised.

If I was an alien from Mars and my only knowledge of US politics was from watching this debate, I would conclude that human cloning is the single most important issue facing the country.

Guy is 70+. Hell with social conservatism, he’s going to need those stem cells to keep him alive pretty soon.

For some reason, it’s not coming in here. I’ll have to ask Comcast what’s up with that.

This does seem profoundly disconnected from anything that matters to me. Guess that’s why I’m a democrat.

What happened to questions about habeus corpus, torture, campaign finances, gun control, the Fairness Doctrine?

Wow, NOT A SINGLE one of them have what I’m looking for in the next president, no wonders independents like me are going democratic.

The difference in questions between the MSNBC debates for the two different parties is interesting.

The questions for the Dems were a lot more “wonkish”. The Republican ones verge on theological.

OK, so here’s what the Republicans care about: abortion (bad), embryonic stem cell research (bad), immigration (bad), taxes (bad). Ronald Reagan (good), optimism (good), American people (good).

Now, why the hell are we asking questions about Scooter Libby and Terry Schiavo?

Great, and Bill Clinton.

Was it really necessary to ask if the Republican candidates think it would be a good thing if Hillary is elected?

Oops, forgot – family (good).

I’ve heard that the candidates were asked which of them believe in evolution. Does anyone happen to know which candidates responded “no”?

Gotta love the Nancy Reagan ass kissing in the end

Nobody. But McCain, having simply said “yes” then asked to amend his answer to add “But whenever I’m hiking in the Grand Canyon and see a sunset, I see the hand of God.” Thanks for clearing that up for us, John.

Well that was a waste of time. What a gutless bunch of questions. What a bunch of scumbags.

As bf just pointed out, Republicans appear to want a government big enough to legislate the Terry Schiavo case, but not big enough to do anything about universal health coverage.
