I saw some promos yesterday announcing that Law & Order: Criminal Intent will be back with Bobby and Alex in new episodes starting May 1. Good move! I love Jeff Goldblum but didn’t like him in that show.

“On September 22, 2010, Variety announced that Criminal Intent had been renewed for its final season on USA Network. Original cast members Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe will return to the series as Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames, respectively. Joining them is Jay O. Sanders as Captain William Hannah. The tenth and final season will premiere on Sunday May 1, 2011 at 9/8c.”
How much weight will D’Onofrio have added by then? 
It seems kind of weird that they’re bothering with a truncated final season. It’s not like they need to fatten up the episode count for syndication. And this isn’t the kind of show that has a long-term story arc begging to be resolved.
CI was a major Law & Order series, and they royally SCREWED it up with the cast changes. I guess they had to make things right before ending it.
