There’ve been endless threads on who the sexiest celebrities are, with people throwing out the names of actors and actresses and musicians. But today I was looking at some of my favorite photos on Flickr, and came across an old favorite of mine which happens to star one of the most gorgeous men I’ve ever seen. He’s a Kurdish oil wrestler in Turkey, even the photographer doesn’t know his name, he’s not wearing makeup and he hasn’t been nipped and tucked into the Uncanny Valley. He’s just captured in an intimate moment, looking like a carelessly sexy god.
Another favorite of mine is this photo of legendary Japanese admiral and total hottie Togo Heihachiro.
So please, post reminisces and photos of your favorite non-celebrities or IRL gorgeous people. For the purposes of this thread, we’ll define a ‘non-celebrity’ as someone who doesn’t use or depend on their image for their job: no actors, no actresses, no models, no musicians.
Well, although his mother, Princess Caroline of Monte Carlo is certainly a celebrity, don’t know if many have seen any pictures of her son - although I guess by default you could say he is a celebrity as he comes from a celebrity family.
Still, if he walked into a room I doubt anyone here in the US would know who he was, but most would agree he ain’t bad on the eyes.
Last fall, I was travelling in the southwest. For my return trip, I caught a flight on a little 20-seat turboprop from Cedar City, Utah, to Salt Lake City. It was very early in the morning, still dark as we boarded the plane. I had a window seat on the right hand side of the plane. As we flew north, I watched the sunrise over the Rockies from the first feeble hints of dawn in a cloudless sky, to the breathless anticipation of seeing the sun itself.
That was not necessarily the best part of the trip. The flight attendant (her name was Jenna) was, quite possibly, the most drop-dead gorgeous woman I have ever seen.
The girl on the promotional screensaver that came with my Fujitsu Siemens laptop. It’s a “lifestyle” shoot where a young couple are hanging out in their architect-designed house using the laptop in various yuppie scenarios. She’s no doubt a model - Spanish I think - but not a celeb to my knowledge. Every time the screensaver comes on and she shows up, my heart skips a beat. She’s breathtaking.
I once saw Isabella Aurora Lloyd Webber with her parents at Phantom of the Opera. Neither of her parents are remotely good looking, but she was drop dead gorgeous. All that and money too.
I’m trying to find one in my holiday videos. I met her in Helsinki. She wasn’t one of the supernaturally-gorgeous women who seem to be relatively-comon there; rather, she was one of the ones who you don’t notice at first, but then comes in under the radar until you can’t get her out of your mind. She was friendly and very attractive.
In the year 1998 (if I remember right) I was riding a motorcycle east to west across the country. I was mostly staying off the interstates. I was in somewhere in New Mexico, on a two-lane highway, when a storm started blowing in. I rode on, looking for someplace to shelter, and came to a small town with a Burger King. I pulled in, ordered some food, and sat down to wait out the storm.
There was a girl there applying for a job. She was probably about 16 or 17 years old. I have never, ever forgotten her face. To this day, she remains the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. And there was something about the light in the restaurant that made her look, in the flesh, like a Richard Avedon photograph.
I will never forget her face. I know nothing about her. I don’t know if she ever got out of that town, or even if she got the job at Burger King.
Also, the German (of Turkish descent) actress Sibel Kekilli. She may or not be a celebrity in Germany (I have no idea), but she certainly isn’t here in the U.S.
