After being 6 months without a Springer (we had two for 15 years), me and Mrs Floppy and our offspring went to pick out a new one. Pic below.
Now, it is decreed that all canines in the Floppy household are named after beers, either type or brand name.
So what to call the little fellow. Current faves are Porter or Murphy but I would call upon the collective dopers to come up with a good one. Fezziwig won;t fly wth Mrs. Floppy lol.
We pick him up in 2 weeks (in MD and maybe elsewhere, a pup has to be 8 weeks old).

I like the name Murphy, and if it was a female, I would suggest Stella.
My favourite beers just don’t fit with a Spaniel. Grasshopper, Moosehead, Warthog, Fin du Monde. These just don’t have the same ring as Murphy.
What about Clancy? It was my favourite beer when I was living in New Brunswick and I have been missing it ever since.
This site might help.
From there I like:
Caffrey
Paddy
Foster
For some odd reason I like people names for dogs, and that little bundle of fluff you have there does not look like a Porter.
How about Steve, or Dave, or Dan?
I had a pooch once named Bob it he was the best pooch!
People used to ask what my dogs name was, and when I said Bob they’d look a little dubious, but I said, " hey doesn’t he look like a bob?"
Oh after a better read of the Op I see you want to go for beer names. How about Buddy, for Buddington’s?

What a cuuuuute baby!
How about Leinenkugel? OK, maybe not.
I like Sam (Adams).
Boddingtons? I suppose Boddington sounds OK.
We have a dog named Murphy - which is a very popular dog name. Its a great dog name, but you won’t be the only Murphy at the vet.
Not a beer drinker though - so can’t help you much there.
You really should name your Springer…Jerry!
Not a beer? Sorry.
Heiney?
Stout?
What were your other dogs called?
How about something European:
Budvar
Carling
Carlsberg
Urquell
Pilsner
Fruli
Or asian:
Tiger
Cobra
Kirin
I like:
Miller
Beck
and finally
Boddington (how cute would that be?)
Am I the only one thinking MrFloppy is a perfect name for the dog?
OK, possibly a bit embarassing in the park…

Tetley - Then you could claim it was named after tea if anyone tries to call you on it.

I went and looked in the fridge and we have some Burning River.
Maybe not the greatest dog name in the world, though.

All that and no suggestion for Guinness, irishgirl ?
Very cute puppy, indeed. Congratulations to the floppy family.

These are all Australian beers or brewers.
I know a dog named Molson, for Molson Canadian.
I reckon Boddington is the best suggestion here. It can be shortened nicely too.
