We are sitting around here with the breeder of our new Standard Poodle puppy (black). We are trying to come up with a name. We are leaning toward something Gaelic. He has been called Thelonius. We considered Mr. T, but, umm…:rolleyes:
Our others are named Charley, Hamish and Lilly.
Any Thoughts?
If you let his coat grow into dreads instead of the usual curly 'fro, Marley is a great name!
Well, when I read the thread title, I saw “noodle” in there.
New poodle=Noodle. I vote for Noodle.

My parents named their new Scottish Terrier puppy Hamish. He is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. I vote for Hamish.
You can’t shout those names in a public space! Both you and your doggy will get mocked mercilessly.

When Hamish was in show-coat, we often were mocked mercilessly.
We have considered trying a corded coat. They look very cool. Not sure how he will feel about smokin’ reefer. We will have to see.

I like Marley and Charley, too. (Marly might be too trendy, given the movie that was just out etc).
Poodle sounds like noodle, and noodle sounds like spaghetti. I say you call the new runt Ragu.
My mastiff puppy is named Thurber. He is also known as Thurver, Furver, Thurbington, Furface, and Furfriend. He is, after all, only a little puppy, weighing under 200 pounds (maybe).
I just had my dog put down, and her name was Bertha. Not Gaelic, I know, but it is available.
I’ve also always wanted to name a dog Cletus, only with a different spelling. Cleotus, or something.
When I saw that puppy, my first thought was that his hair looks like Little Richard’s.
Make of that what you will.
