I’ve been getting this too.
Ditto on the blank pages. Plus numerous sit-n-spins (the page is attempting to load, but no data is being transferred) and the occasional message that the connection was reset.
I’d like to have my Charter Member status restored.*
Also, nothing happens when I click on Quick Links, either the words or the little arrow.
The symbol in thread titles that indicates you’ve posted in that thread isn’t showing up for threads I have posted in. Also post counts in the thread title are wrong. (Probably related database issues that will work themselves out.)
And I don’t see the drop down menu when I click on a user name, mine or anyone else’s.
Firefox 3, XP (SP3).
Lots of long, annoying, down times.
- [Yeah, I’m a kinda pathetic like that.]
Me, too.
Me, too.
We’re all a little pathetic without our little corner of teh internets.
I was unable to get past the main forums page until tonight. This is the first post since the upgrade… cross your finners.
And the reason I came in here :smack: …
The drop-downs are gone when clicking my username.
This, but only on GD and CS. Even weirder, I can access a page in one of those forums if I’ve visited it before and have a link to it, but still can’t get to the main page.
I have the Google text ads too, but I thought the ads were to be gone from all paid members.
I’m using Safari 3.1.2 Mac, of course.
All righty, I’m odd.
Now that we’ve upgraded to free subscriptions I’d like to become a paying member again. (self imposed suspsension, blah blah blah)
Is the registration thingy still locked? I can’t find out who to shell my credit card number out to. I’m not going to email it to anyrose again… fool me once…
I can only get four pages in a forum. Even if I set it to “Last 45 days.”
Jerry’s latest update here says this is broken intentionally - he thinks the forum display may be the reason for some of the performance issues.
There’s a specific post by a specific poster I’ve been trying to find since early 2008. The older server and software wouldn’t help me with it, so I thought I’d wait and try again with the new fancy equipment. But no dice:
This isn’t identical to the error the old system coughed up when it refused to find what I was looking for, but it’s pretty close.
When I click on thread tools it just moves the page to the bottom of the screen.
09/04/08 06:13 Currently the thread tools in the reply box don’t function.
Kind of a minor problem, but bizarre just the same: I noticed that there are many threads with links that look like they’ve already been clicked even though I know I never read them and I know that nobody else here at work has the password for my account. Not only that, but some of the “visited” links are threads that were just posted ten or twenty minutes ago, and I’ve been sitting in front of the computer the whole time!
This is the strangest thing.
I just came in to mention this. This is happening to me to. Plus, threads that I’ve clicked on are showing up as unclicked.
I am apparently not subscribed to this thread. Previously, I had things set to subscribe to every thread I posted in and to send me an e-mail when there are new posts in one of those threads. I looked at my profile, and it still says, “Instant e-mail notification”, so I don’t know what’s changed. I’d rather not have to search for threads–that’s why I turned that system on in the first place.
I was doing a search and got back this result.
I set the search for a specific term, changed the time period to “From Yesterday” and asked it to display as posts.
I got my re-up email today. I don’t plan on continuning to be a paid member but the email says if I don’t re-up my access will be removed.
From everything I read I know that is not the case but I thought you should re-phrase the auto re-subscribe email.
This is an odd and alarming one. I was just replying in a thread when I received a popup asking me if I wanted to add a song as part of my sig.
ETA: :smack: Looking more closely at it, I realized that it’s from a Firefox addon that was recently updated. Never mind.
It would be nice if Search could display the amount of time that needs to elapse before running another search instead of just refreshing the page.
