I couldn’t find a thread for season 4. (I hated the whole Bruce goes bad storyline) Anyhow I came to talk about the death of Jerome Valeska. After it was pretty sure that he was dead it was pretty obvious that his brother would become the Joker (unless that is yet another red herring), but how? As soon as I saw the present it was obvious what was going to happen.
I am curious where the Barbara Kean / Ra’s al Ghul storyline is going.
The last 1/3d (or 1/2?) of last season* and all of this season have been spectacular. They’ve embraced the weirdness.
The Bruce Goes Bad thing sucked when it was coming out, but I rewatched this season in one lump and in a lump, it works better.
I thought the brother was going to become the Joker as well–if only to get rid of the stupid eye/face removal scars.
*From when Gordon was insta-pardoned for killing Thompkin’s boyfriend onward, rather than doing the utterly craptacular and tired “framed for a crime he didn’t commit” thing that Gotham has done so often)
The only thing I wonder is, is this show wrapping up? Things are moving pretty damn fast. Alfred even gave Bruce a prototypical Batmobile as a throwaway scene (product placement for Ford, obviously, but done so nonchalantly, it was like they were following a checklist to Bruce-becomes-Batman).
