I hate you. I’m looking out at beautiful downtown Newark, New Jersey. I have a glorious view of rusted-out rooftop air conditioning units, and–wait–I think I see a tree!
It’s about 3/4 of a mile away before it starts getting steep. The peak is about 3 miles as the crow flies. 12,800 feet in elevation and often shrouded in clouds.
In my 14th-floor office I have natural light through some big windows out onto a hallway that runs around the perimeter of the building, and some great views over downtown Cleveland from the hallway itself, but nothing compared to that. Congrats (and envy) to you.
I am so jealous. I’ve not had a window at work in 18 years. Recently, it’s dark when I get here and dark when I leave and I only see daylight on Sundays. Human beings were not meant to live like these.
