The above was a passing refernce in a news article on Gotti’s girlfriend (found dead). What was Gotti trying to extort Seagal over?

it was a simple threat. Make movies with our “production company” (fees about 150K a movie) or something nasty will happen to you. There may have been prior links between seagal and gotti, but there was no blackmail, only extortion

… prompting Seagal to adopt a scorched-earth policy of ruining his own career first. Of course, Seagal didn’t exactly use the words “scorched-earth policy” when he undertook this path. It was pointed out to him by a fan, prompting Seagal to immediately kill said fan with some of his fancy chop-socky moves because he thought the fan was accusing him of setting forest fires.
Aw, come on. It’s impossible to make a bad movie about a rogue EPA agent. That kind of story just writes itself.
Yeah, I thought that was it, but maybe exposing his aikido demonstrations were rigged was the real blackmail.
Any scenes that have him running are comedy gold. For him speeds beyond pedestrian are ill advised.
