Grandpa grabs gun; Grave greets grifter

Hats off to a fellow who wouldn’t allow the safety of his wife or home be violated without redress.

I find it particularly despicable when the criminal element preys upon the elderly, and give a ^5 to those who take a stand against it.

My apologies-no clue why link is not functioning. Mod help?

Brittle bridegroom, briefly Bronson, brilliantly brandishes, brings brass to break-in brigand.

Wow, you can rhyme!

That seemed kind of snarky Ilsa.

Snarky? ME?

Ok, ok. :o

Doper doffs derby to deft deliverer of data. Danke.

Atreyu appreciates alliteration.

Atreyu also adores assonance? :stuck_out_tongue:

I give his wife credit as well. Total bad-asses, all the way around.

Well, can’t say I blame him.

That said, I have a feeling someone is going to object to what this guy and his wife did. :frowning:

Grandma is really lucky that Gramps didn’t score a 2 for 1.

If his aim was justa little off…

spooje makes a good point. If the guy had been a little less steady in his aim, this wouldn’t be a happy story.

Fortunately he was either lucky or practiced in the use of firearms. If it was the latter, good for him and kudos for saving an innocent life and putting down a probable murderer. If it was just the former, he shouldn’t have had that pistol around in the first place.

Anyway, we don’t know which it was, so the default position is yay for gramps.

Jurhael I’ll give it a try:

Great, so now old folks will be deemed as “dangerous” targets for criminals. Where does that leave the rest of us young & healthy open-minded gun-less liberals?

no, wait…lame. How about:

That old crank might just as well offed his wife and the next door neighbor if he hadn’t got lucky with his initial volley. Damn cop shows inciting violence in the real world [frothing] this is just what the NRA needs to kill any gun-control legislation asdhh dgfsdgs aaarrrrgghhh.[frothing/]

Sorry. Couldn’t do it. God bless America.

I can just imagine what this jerkoff was thinking as he ran from that house: “Old people are supposed to be weak, easy targets–WTF is going on?”

My guess is, this guy knew what he was doing, or he wouldn’t have risked the life of his wife on a wild shot–that life was important enough to him to defend with lethal force. Also, the cops were privately praising him. I don’t think they’d do that if this guy was simply a Charles Bronson wannabe. And I’ll just bet his wife knew he was going for the gun, the way she pulled aside to give him the clear shot.

I say, more power to him! It’s about time one if these stories didn’t end with two elderly people losing their lives to a punk asshole looking to make an easy score!

If this is the story I think it is, Grandpa is a retired Marine.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. More people have guns, and know how to use them, than you’d think. Probably at least one of your friends that you’ve never considered as owning one, has one. Probably a nice, quiet person, too.

Are you bragging, or complaining?
