Gray's Anatomy - 11/9/06

All I want to know is where were they camping? That was an awesome looking bridge.

Yeah, that was gorgeous! The chief with his rolly suitcase and a picnic basket. Hee.

I’m glad Derek and Meredith ended up together, at least for now. They are a good match in their flaws. Sloane just came off as creepy; does he need to sleep with every woman in town?

The baby dying was a heartbreaker, especially the woman having to go through labor anyway.

Yang: “That penis was mine!”

I don’t have much to add but that I don’t want emotional, feminine, and syrupy sweet Addison. I want snarky, bitchy, and aloof Addison. Waaahh.

I’m glad they got Derek and Meredith together because I’ve been tired of will-they-or-won’t-they since the X-Files broke my heart. I also like the Burke/Cristina relationship and how loyal Cristina is being to Burke, to the detriment of her own career. That’s love.

Will Callie and George get back together?

Umm Mark, if you really want your family (Derek) back, hitting on the woman he loves isn’t the best way to do it.

I love that the chief goes camping with a suitcase and gourmet cheese. Also love Addy bonding with Callie and the slap fight between Alex and George.

See, the thing I love about Addison is that she can be either. I love emotional, sweet Addison with heartbroken parents, and I love snarky bitchy Addison with Derek and Sloane. And I really love sympathetic Addison with Callie and Meredith. In fact, is it just me, or does Addison make other characters more likeable simply by her proximity to them?

All during the episode I kept thinking, “why did they let all the male doctors leave the hospital during the same weekend?” So I found the cramping trip storyline very implausible.

I liked the look exchange in the beginning between Addison, Callie and McSteamy. Not a word was spoken but you could tell what was going on. I also liked the scene between Katherine Heigl’s character and the Perky Doctor at the end about Denny. One of the nicest things about the show is how they try to show all characters, even the more minor ones, having multiple facets.

Yes! The way they act with them being the key doctors in the city of Seattle and then they allow them all to be out of reach.

As much as she loves him in the past, she’s still very driven in her career. I love Burke (I didn’t think he could be hotter and then I saw him in those hip boots) but I wouldn’t want her to compromise her ambition for him. Too much like Izzy/Denny. Of course she’s in too far to back out now, but should Burke have allowed that?

The preview shows Izzy and Alex smooching again. She didn’t know Alex still liked her like that?? Why wouldn’t he, when it was mostly sex anyway?

That is true. Perhaps it was just that this week all we saw was conflicted and human Addison. And I agree that she does make other characters more palatable.

No, he shouldn’t allow it. He knows he’s wrong to be doing surgeries and letting Cristina do all his stitching, but he can’t let go of being a surgeon for a lot of very deep-seated reasons. They’re in a classic enabling situation. Wonder where the show is going with this…

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the idea of going camping with my boss and my peers just sounds very uncomfortable any way you look at it…

Another thread asked what happens to pull you out of a show. The camping charade was one. It was just so implausible for so many reasons and I couldn’t really get into it. Beautiful scenery though.

I was surprised that Yang didn’t crack when Bailey pressed her for an explanation of why she erased her name from the board. She’s such a career girl.
