Video game, board game, computer game whatever. Any advertisement; commercial, magazine, blog, whatever.
Games have an incredible variety of themes making them great for ads. I’ve always liked Gears of War with Mad World playing in the background and I once saw a two page magazine spread for Panzer General and the only thing printed was, “This land is your land, until it’s my turn.”
And considering how much better that trailer was than the game it was advertising, it’s practically a thread closer.
However, the trailer for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft is pretty damn good, particularly if you can appreciate the horrible irony of the voiceover.
An oldie but goodie:
I thought the official trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution was pretty compelling. Starts with a bionic Icarus, and throws you into the world of the game. Also, pretty colors!
Well, you couldn’t call it great, but the most memorable one in my mind was the teaser ad for Daikatana which simply said “John Romero’s going to make you his bitch.”
Yeah, let me know how that works out for you, Johnny.
Team Fortress has excellent commercials. There’s an entire ‘meet the’ series, and they’re pretty much all awesome.
Also, Valve is just plain awesome with all their promotions.

WoW’s trailer for the new expansion is pretty funny in a classy way. A lot of people are bitching because it seems too “kung fu panda.” I liked it though.
