quotes of me and my friends
–> http://www.horus.com/~steff/quotes.html

My two favourite quotes of all time were both said by Winston Churchill. Im pretty sure one of them was with Lady Astor:

1
Woman: Sir, if you were my husband, I would poison your drink.

Churchill: Madam, if ou were my wife, I would drink it.

2
Woman: Winston you are drunk, terriby drunk.

Churchill: Madam you are ugly, terribly ugly, but in the morning I shall be sober.

I have my whole collection of stuff like this here

Now if I could ever get around to getting the rest of the quotes I have marked in books around my apartment typed in…

Another favorite quote just wandered across my mind–nothing profound, just a line from the Gargoyles cartoon that tickled me:

“Madame, in the Middle Ages, they burned women like you!”
–Macbeth to the bitchy DA on live TV, in a Connery-like Scottish accent

Someday, I’m going to use that sucker and get slapped right out of my socks.

“Hell is just other people.”
Jean-Paul Sartre in his Play “No Exit.” Which is a damned good play.

Another favorite quote “Either this wallpaper goes or I do.” Oscar Wilde’s last words.

Or, from my Undergrad days (when I was a philosophy major):
“Life is hard, but do not pretend to be so delicate.”
Nietzsche

We agree to recognize this singular truth and this singular rule: That we must be kind to one another. Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us, and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light the way to a better future. We are One. --G’Kar, “The Paragon of Animals” [Babylon 5]

All of these are from my friend Sean, who is trying to kill himself, and I’m the only one that seems to care:

“Someday, I’m going to compile a top ten list of things I say…”

“What’s gonna happen is, I’m going to lose a lot of weight, and then she’s going to come in and say, ‘Hey guys, meet my new boyfriend, horrible gelatinous blob.’ Never fails.”

After not leaving his [seans] apartment for a week, and acting really antisocial, my other friend says to Sean, “You’ve gone nuts dude!” Sean replies to this, “Better get out the Elephant tranquilzer…”
My friend is confused. “Alright, why an Elephant tranqulizer?”
And in a tiny voice, Sean says “because i’ve gone crazy, and nothing else can stop me, due to my immense size…”

“Alright, you remember ‘Hanging With Mr. Cooper?’? Well, THIS is ‘Hanging With ALICE Cooper.’”

“Oh god, my life is just Stereotype after Stereotype!”
