Great weather = Double edged sword

Nice and sunny here today, just great for November.
But also this time of year you feel too guilty to just sit and enjoy good weather.
Raking leaves, cleaning gutters, rearranging and cleaning garage and car for winter. The whole neighborhood has been busy as hell, the leafblower’s whine constant from all directions.

Thanks to DST I was up at 5:00 and have been at it for 11.5 hours. And I still can’t help but think “Threeish hours of Daylight left, gotta do something productive”.

Around here everybody is shooting. Lots and lots of gunfire. Me too.

I just walked through the living room and looked out the window. “Damn, how’d it get so foggy?” Walked out to the garage and it became clear it was smoke from people burning leaves. I kind of like the smell but if you have respiratory issues it probably sucks.

I took this break in the constant howling wind to paint my house and patch up my roof. Actually feel like I accomplished something for a change.

Time to drink beer!

What a relief, I didn’t check the forum, and thought this was going to be about Tuesday’s forecast and voter turnout.

My husband and I went to a play today and arrived a bit early, so we sat outside the theater on the patio and enjoyed the day, marveling at how nice it was for this time of year.

When things are like this, a little corner of my mind always wonders if we are going to pay later … two feet of snow all in one day? An ice storm? I see that shoe hanging …
