Grey's Anatomy 9/28

As much as I can look past a lot of the medically-related nonsense that goes on, Izzy would be involved in a massive law suit and/or internal review and/or malpractice case, and I have to think
she would never set foot in the hospital again unless accompanied by a lawyer.

It appeared that Denny didn’t have any relatives or friends even. No one ever came to visit him. So who would sue on his behalf? The only ones who know what Izzie did are the a handful of the hospital staff and Denny and he ain’t talking. If the hospital makes it public knowledge, then they lose their transplant accreditation.

I think Izzie will be disciplined internally.

Burke said, in his face-off with Dr, Hahn (the other thoracic surgeon on transplant harvest day, said the her patient could climb Mt. Everest win the condition he was in. So I’m thinking he’ll do just fine until the next heart comes along.

Oh! Pick me! Pick me!!

Meredith was feeling lonely and needy and started having sex with George. She was crying and losing it (not in a good way) and naturally he was offended by the whole thing. I can’t remember if he actually bared his soul about loving her. Anyhoo, everyone agreed it was a scummy thing to do and George stopped talking to her for a while as you mentioned.

Oh, yes he did. He said, “I will always love you. I will never hurt you. And I will never leave you.” In fact, in the quarentine locker room, he even told Derek that he (Derek) needs to tell Mere that he loves her because he (George) has already.

I kinda liked drunk Addison - not so perfect after all.

And Meredith is starting to irritate me a lot.

Christina was awesome as always and Callie I love.

yeah, that was my favorite part of the episode. I’m guessing that was all supposed to mean that McD managed to figure out that their (Addison & Mark’s) relationship was a little more than just a one time thing.

I think most do - that’s probably why she won’t.

I didn’t see it that way. As I read it, she called Mark after finding the panties. Because even at the prom (which was what, two days ago in the show?) she seemed to feel that they were “Derek & Addison” again. If she hadn’t found out that Derek had a romp with his dirty mistress, she never would have slept with Mark. Derek is 100% to blame for what happened, and shouldn’t feel better. He and Meredith deserve each other.

“Do women have two sets of panties?” Between that and him almost putting that girl’s eye out with the dart, good old George!

Fuck Izzie. She was criminally negligent, and Bailey’s going all soft and squishy and inviting her back was the most howlingly bullshit thing I’ve seen on TV in a long time.

And Callie is hawt. She just is. Among Izzie, Callie, and Gray, I’d pick Callie every time. She’s the only one who doesn’t seem ragingly psychotic to me.

Totally agree, and I like the fact that they have an attractive, exotic (ethnic?) full-figured woman on a TV show and allow her to be and act sexy. I think Cristina Yang is hot too, but her super-type-A personality is a turn-off to me. Izzie has what I consider to be generic tall blonde looks – sure she’s pretty, but her face doesn’t have that much to make it interesting or give her character. (Charlize Theron doesn’t do much for me either for the exact same reason, and Cameron Diaz has good and bad days.) Meredith Gray is cute, but her character just rubs me the wrong way, and she’s too skinny. Callie just seems like the coolest of all the women, and she looked damn fine dancing around in her drawers!

Burke knew what she was going to do even if Izzie didn’t tell him. He should have told her that he would do nothing to stop the transplant. Bailey did tell Izzie to stay away from Denny. Izzie snuck in that room behind her back, Bailey didn’t know Izzie was in there until after the line was cut.

Bailey went soft alright, by forgiving Izzie. Ogre is right, that was some howling bullshit.

Couple of things:

How could anyone, especially George who has seen both, mistake Callie’s panties for Meredith’s? They are radically different sized humans. I doubt anyone could realistically make that error, which ruined that ongoing George jealousy plot point for me.

I really hope Addison is off the show soon. Her self-righteous, arrogant priss act is getting on my nerves. I’m not the big booster for Meredith, but I don’t think she deserves any grief from Addison. She should save her anger for Derek, and even then, she’s the one who broke that marriage, not him.

I can’t manage all the hate for Izzy either. I understand why she did what she did. It’s easy for us to judge her, but if that was the man you loved on that table, wouldn’t you have done whatever you had to do to save him? And how did she kill Denny? He was going to die, and she took a shot to save him. That blood clot was a freak thing. Unless I’m misremembering, I’m not sure how we can blame her for it.

The only time he saw them they were tacked up on a bulletin board on the other side of a large room. I don’t see it being unrealistic that he didn’t notice what size they were.

No, she really was responsible. When she realized Denny wasn’t going to get his heart transplant, she intentionally made his condition go criticial by turning off his life support machinery so he would move up the list.

I didn’t, because they would be radically different size. Meredith’s ass is about the size of my fist. Callie’s, the size of, well, my ass. Big difference.

But that’s not why he died. He died of a blood clot that was not foreseen, and that was not her fault. He was dying before her eyes and she did what she had to do to save him. If she hadn’t gotten him the transplant, he surely would have died, and soon. He was fading fast. At least with the transplant, he had a chance. Didn’t work out, but not Izzy’s fault.

I dunno. I guess it’s a judgement call. But I figure if you cut the power cord on a critically ill patient’s life support and they’re dead a few hours later, you should feel a little bit responsible even if other factors were involved. Danny was dying, but he’d been dying for months. And he had decided to discontinue his life support in the near future which would have ended any hope for his survival. But the bottom line is he wouldn’t have died on that day if Izzy hadn’t started the chain of events she did.

And then she killed him on Supernatural too! Little did they realize that earlier in the year, she offed him in Weeds! What tv series will she kill him in next?

I bet she did feel responsible-- more than a little. Very. I think Izzy is totally tortured about the whole thing. But I am not ready to blame her for it. She did what she thought she had to do to save him. I thought it was recklessly brave and I feel for her.

I got the impression that if he didn’t get the heart ASAP, he was going to die. It was a damned if you do/damned if you don’t situation, and Izzy took a chance. I can’t hold it against her, from the perspective of a fan of the show, anyway.

I really, really enjoyed Mrs. Burke giving Christina a lecture on not using the Nazis as a punchline. Meanwhile, Alex did something decent in this episode! He screwed the woman with cancer, thus convincing her to live, and I’m pretty sure he did something else good, but I forget what it was.

Based on the other threads, I think it’s safe to say you’re not the only one. I’m so sick of Meredith and Derek that I wouldn’t be disappointed if they left the show. I don’t like Finn much, either. He’s a little too sweet and nice for my taste.

On the other hand, McSteamy is indeed steamy. Damn, all naked stepping out of the shower . . . damn! Very . . . compelling actor.

Plus, she’s just sweet - and she’s obviously got a streak of liking to help the kids get away from stuff under the principal’s nose. If she claimed them, it’s not like she was liable to get in trouble, since Bailey couldn’t discipline her. But if it was one of her interns, Bailey would have put them through hell. I just absolutely love Callie . . . she’s spirited and fun. George losing Meredith and winning Callie is like losing an itchy rash and winning the lottery.

 She’s seriously hot. Does anyone else think she looks a bit like Charlize Theron?

It was crazy and fucked up, but I still don’t get why everyone acted like she was a total scumbag for sleeping with someone who was desperate to sleep with her. If he was seriously that emotionally injured because he managed to fall in love with some woman without ever being in a relationship, isn’t that more of a sign that George has psychological problems? It’s not Meredith’s fault he built some huge fantasy around her. I’m not fan of Meredith, but I don’t see why this is her fault.
