In front of my eyes, the Auschwitz-Birkenau website in Polish.
Information as follows.
1,3 million people of 20 different nationalities got DEPORTED to Auschwitz.
1,1 million were murdered at the extermination camp.
900, 000 Jews were murdered in gas chambers on arrival at the camp.
On 400,000 registered detainees half died (200,000).
Almost 100,000 Jews; 64,000 Poles; 21,000 gypsies; 14,000 Soviet prisoners of war; 10,000+ prisoners of other nationalities.
1,1 million Jews were deported to the camp and -1 million were murdered.
140,000 Poles were deported there and -70,000 of which were killed.
And so forth. Gypsies, Soviets, others.
Polish victims of the war including in other camps are 4 million.
They take first place. Jews are in second place with 3 million victims.
There are three Auschwitz camps. Auschwitz 1. Auschwitz 2- Birkenau. And Auschwitz 3- Monowitz.
Another Polish website writes approximately 6 million Polish citizens were killed by the Germans and their helpers, such as the Ukrainian nationalists, during the war.
2,6 million Polish Jews and 2,8 million non Jewish Poles.
As you realize, in 1945 the number of dead in Auschwitz is 4 million according to the Soviets. But new research suggests otherwise.

I think you’re talking about the memorial at Majdanek. If I’m right, you really need to read more about the memorial at Majdanek.

I have visited Auschwitz twice in my life. Once with Swami Vishnudevananda, the flying Swami.
I meant the so-called Memorial in Auschwitz but my memory is failing. Any monuments from the Communist period are grotesque and insulting.
This one in particular. Whether in Majdanek or Auschwitz.
I’ve lived in Communist Poland for a year in 1979-1980 and I I realize that the world revolution is an unwavering tenet and commitment within the ideology of communism.
The Communist party exists in Canada. And internationally.
However the world revolution is more of low profile affair now. If not as occult as in the 19th century.
Planning the destruction of millions of bourgeois was occult.
Meaning secret and evil.
The victims of the Holocaust are typically the bourgeois.

I have just finished reading a history of the Yalta agreements. There seems to be an opinion by many that the western allies should have just forced Russian back to its original borders and forced free elections in all the occupied countries. Easier said than done. Russia had all the cards in eastern Europe at that time. The US and Britain were still fighting in the Pacific and at one time, needed Russian assistance if an invasion of Japan were to occur.
If I remember correctly (someone please correct me if I am wrong), although the eastern part of Poland was kept by the Russians, the western border of Poland was moved further west, at the cost of the German families that had lived there for generations. They were either killed outright or forced to leave with none of their possessions. To say the Germans did not pay reparations is ignoring the history of the post-war years.
Just speculating.
Since the property’s supposed to have been lost after the war, who can say with certainty that it was not in the family?
My grandfather and my father went on the assumption that it was.
I think they must’ve known.
War also suggests the property was probably robbed.

As a descendant of Albert’s I am unhappy that most people think that he died while being “forgotten” as one bio in Poland mentioned.
The books have been reprinted by such publishers as FORGOTTEN BOOKS in the UK and KESSINGER in the USA.

elbows, you’re forgetting copyright. Authors’ families retain copyright for 50 or 70 years after death of author in Europe, depending on when they were written. That could apply to grandchildren.
There’s no doubt a lot of property was stolen during the War, both by NAZIs and by the Soviets. There’s no doubt the Poles got screwed by the Soviets at Yalta. They weren’t the only ones. And Stalin didn’t live up to the agreements for free elections in the restored states, either.
With regards to stolen property, restitution can be made for items stolen by the NAZIs if ownership can be established. I don’t know if or how that applies to property stolen by the Soviets, or how that would work for copyright.
mrka, you seem especially peeved that some books describe your grandfather died “forgotten”. That is not to imply his own family doesn’t remember him, just that the world at large is not aware of him or his contributions. The content of his books have likely been subsumed by further study. Their value would mostly be historical, not scientific.

The conjecturing is because of WW2 and wartime losses.
My grandfather and my father never said anything much about this since they could never get anything returned or compensated. The books are getting reprinted because libraries approach these publishers who extend the lives 9f out of print rare books.

Nothing wrong with Bob Zimmerman’s English. Jewish people aren’t aliens, their sex practices are the same as everyone else’s.
Back when Poland had one of the largest, if not the largest, Jewish community in Europe the country wasn’t any less Polish. Given that Jews are not interested in converting others to their beliefs I seriously doubt the mainstream Catholic culture of Poland is in any danger from them.
