Question about the PC version: I’ve got a 666MHz CPU, 384mb RAM, a 32mb GeForce 2, and Win98. I run GTA3 pretty smoothly. Would I have any problems running Vice City on the same system?
Used to be that I could pick up any new game and already be sure I could run it on that system, but sadly, those days are finally behind me.
Before anyone asks, I have looked at the system requirements, but usually they might as well have been compiled by chimps for all that they relate to actual performance. I’m hoping someone else has tried to run it on a low-end system and can tell me what to expect. Thanks.
Gah, I said don’t make me a list, heh. Anyways, if you’re playing GTA simply for the music you’d be better of purchasing the OST. While the music was great, it did not add nor detract to the gameplay in my experience. A “talking main character” is also a very minor point in my book. Sure, it makes the game more cinematic, but we’re not playing GTA to watch movies, right? And the whole gang thing is merely a minor facet, some people actually miss that feature. Anyways, I really do hope RockStar spends more than a year on the next sequel and offers up a whole new experience.
Btw, am I the only one who preferred the city of GTA3 to GTA: Vice City? Vice City is just too flat for me (sans the sand dunes).
I actually agree with skaterboarder. I loved GTA III and player the heck out of it, but got tired of VC pretty quickly. All the flaws in the first one that I could ignore because of the “newness” of the experience, seemed magnified in the second one. The crappy AI, the way people would just “pop” into exsistence whenever you turned your back. After the success of the first one, I expected a lot more polish on the second.
