Guacamole or hummus?

Since we were given the option of “Neither, because I cannot choose”, I chose that.

But if I had to choose, I’d keep my guacamole, since it means I can still have my avocado.

I can’t choose.
Shouldn’t I have both?

Love both and said unable to choose. However, if I MUST choose, I’ll stay with the guac because I can’t give up the family’s 100±year-old tradition of avocado toast.

I’m not a millennial but this is hard. I’d rather give up guacamole because I can enjoy Mexican food without it. I can’t imagine life without hummus.

Hah, this was very easy for me. I think people who order hummus instead of baba ganoush are idiots. I’ll happily do without hummus, thanks. The only part that hurts is I can’t have falafels anymore because of the garbanzo prohibition. Oh well.

No-brainer. I don’t like hummus anyway.

Baba ganoush is in no way a substitute for hummus. Baba ganoush is made from eggplant, which means that it’s only an acceptable substitute for various petroleum distillates when used as flavoring agents.

I already am allergic to eggplant, so i gave up baba ganoush years ago.

The only trouble with hummus is that it tastes just like it sounds.

We make it from aubergine over here; much more classy.

I would give up hummus.

More difficult for me would have been Guacamole or Hummers (and I don’t mean vehicles).

One of my favorite restaurants is L’ Auberge Gourmande, in Grande Case, St Martin. I (jokingly) call it “The Gourmet Eggplant”.

Hummus from the store tastes good, and is easy to get my hands on. Guac tastes good from the local Mexican place, but the store bought stuff doesn’t taste good.

However, their guac tastes much better than the hummus. However, I also get much less of it, only like a scoop of guac compared to the tub of hummus for around the same price.

So probably I’d give up the guac.

You’ll have to pry the avocado from my cold dead fingers.

Y’all realize that if you cannot choose you get neither, right?

Care to re-think, Sophie?
mmm

Same with me. There are substitutes for guacamole, but baba ganoush just doesn’t cut it for me.

Damn. I didn’t see that.

I want to change my vote to guac.

There’s a place near me that makes luscious hummus, and that’s about the only time I eat it – maybe 4 times a year. I’d die without avocados! Die!!!

Guac and caddos are garbage. Pointless garbage. That’s not to say I hate them. I just dont understand the love for them, or paying extra to have it added to various dishes. I’ll never miss them.

I love me some hummus though. Sounds like a great deal!

Hummus, absolutely. Guacamole is an abomination in my sight.

Guacamole for me. Hummus is not objectionable, but I’ve only come across it a couple of times “in the wild”, so I’ll give up the oddball foreign/foody/trendy thing for the everyday delicious.
