Fun thread. Here’s our little guy, adopted in April. He’s 35 pounds, tail was docked and his ears are remarkable both for their size and their expressiveness – they are normally perked as in the photo, but they can also lay independently all the way flat.
We haven’t had him tested (and probably won’t), but the shelter said:
Wow, my dog is about 60 lbs and from a shelter and looks exactly like that except he is grey. I think it’s an Irish wolfhound/terrier mix. Maybe giant Schnauzer?
We’ve considered Husky and Malamute and others like them. Her eyes are a much lighter brown than many dogs. My mom thinks Collie or Setter, some of her tail hair is over 10 inches long. I’m sure there’s probably a nice mix up, maybe one day I’ll have her genome sequenced and find out. All we know is that her mom was a German Shepherd - she came from a bucket of pups that was being taken to the shelter.
My girl is about 45 pounds and the shelter went "ummm, maybe welsh terrier? " But she was a little red fluff ball at the time, and I’m not seeing any welsh in her now.
Here’s my dog. Imgur: The magic of the Internet She was about 8 months old and 60 lbs in that picture. It’s clear to me that she’s part one breed, but but beyond that?
You realize you’re living with the next internet sensation, right? I could see that face in all kinds of memes.
Now that’s one cute doggie right there. Reminds me of my last hound who was a terrier-mutt and had that same *Benji *look. That one looks like a Wheaton Terrier crossed with German Shepard. What do I win?
That Petunia is an interesting-looking girl and appears (from the various photos) to have a unique *dog-*onality to go with the look. And Hazelnut is precious.
Here’s a few shots of Duncan. He’s quite a mix; I’ve even seen him “point” before.
