Guess the song from the reworded lyrics

I tried a number of the ones that had no correct answers yet, but so far I’ve got nothing. In the meantime, I have a few more to add to the pile, but I imagine the teeming millions will make short work of these:

Stop talking this instant! Why would you accuse me of erring? I am a person, and I require the comfort of affection, not unlike the rest of the world.
To me, unimportant are the things those people might believe; likewise, the places to which they might venture. I have no quarrel with the son of man.
Arm yourselves! Come with your acquaintances and amigos! It is a delight to fall short, and to make believe.

  1. is the song by Kylie Minogue (Boy, I just can’t get you out of my head. Your lovin’ is all I’m thinkin’ 'bout.)

Has this one been done yet?

“Allrighty, herein lies the state of affairs. My mother and father have departed for seven days of pleasurable leave. They have neglected to pack the security pass to their recently acquired luxury automobile. In your opinion, would my intentions upset them? After considering, I think obviously no.”

Correct!

My numbers 1, 2, 5 and 6 are still available.

“How Soon Is Now” - The Smiths

Come As You Are - Nirvana

Parents Just Don’t Understand - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince

“I am a young man endowed with a particular serenity. I linger, just hanging around and killing time. The minutes and hours of my life pass as waste into a sewer.”

“A judicious gentleman was regaling me with stories of his life - stories of both his travels and the happenings that he’d observed.”

Byrds/Doobie Bros., “Jesus Is Just All Right”

Correct!

Not quite.

Correct!

“You shut your mouth/How can you say/I go about things the wrong way ?/I am Human and I need to be loved/Just like everybody else does”

Everybody’s distracted, I guess.

SP1 Yesterday, Beatles.
SP2 Who are You?, the Who.
SP3… gotta go look those up. Later

Of course not - it’s Smells Like Teen Spirit. I don’t know how I confused them.

Hmm. Still unsolved. How about if I give the chorus? It may help if you know that the words in parentheses are sung by the background singer in a very high-pitched voice.

Foul (foul!) ichor (ichor!)
The female was created to prevaricate
Implies commitments she doesn’t follow through on
By blinking one eye
Foul (foul!) ichor (ichor!)
Kinsman, you’ve been tricked
You’ll certainly think differently
About what you put your faith in from now on.

Bad Blood – Neil Sedaka (I think he should sing the song to your lyrics)

Yep.

Yes, and thank you! At last, I can rest.

I imagine you were actually thinking of SLTS, but you instead typed CAYA. Perhaps because you’d listened to it recently or something? :smack:

I figured that someone would get this already. Here’s more but it makes it too easy.

David Bowie - “Space Oddity” (“Ground Control to Major Tom”)

The game seems to have wound down, so I’ll go ahead and post the answers to the ones I posted that haven’t been claimed yet:

1) You claim that all music contains the same aural qualities, yet you purchase it anyway. You cannot explain it away, pal. We should break new ground.
The Streets - “Let’s Push Things Forward” (“You say that everything sounds the same, but then you go buy them. There’s no excuses my friend. Let’s push things forward.”)

2) You may not answer to the title of a popular song by Duran Duran, but this does not bother me as I have no fondness for the material often found on beaches or in playgrounds.
Arctic Monkeys - “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor” (“Your name isn’t Rio, but I don’t care for sand.”)

3) I lack the ability to verbalize my emotions. However, these affectionate feelings of mine are available at any given hour.
George Harrison - “What Is Life?” (“What I feel, I can’t say, but my love is there for you any time of day.”)

4) This unspecified thing lacks the capacity to change my position and also does not assist in my getting started in the least. (nonsense syllables) This aforementioned thing cannot bring me from point A to point B, as it is not really my bag. Kaiser Chiefs - “Na Na Na Na Naa” [“It does not move me, it does not get me going at all. (Na na na na naa.) It does not shift me, it’s not the kind of thing that I like. (Na na na na naa.) It does not move me, it’s not the kind of thing that I like. (Na na na na naa.)”]
