Fine. It wasn’t a romantic date, mostly a get together with a friend. Except I ate too much greasy food-ugh.
I’m just coming in to say that I enjoy Guin’s posts, even the ones I don’t agree with.
Why does anyone on this board want to censor another poster? It’s contrary to the spirit of the fight against ignorance.
Isn’t it great to be able to post what you want without being filtered or censored? Remember the Golden Rule, and it’s not the one that says “He who has the gold makes the rules”.
All of this has been said before, and undoubtedly will again.
Like when Guin told another poster not to listen to AHunter3 (not battle him with contrary information, but actually say “don’t listen to him”), then create a Pit thread telling him to SHUT THE FUCK UP about a topic he does have intimate knowledge of, just because his ideas disagree with hers? I generally enjoy Guin’s posts, but that was one of the most egregious shutdown tactics I’ve seen here.

davenportavenger, my problem with AHunter3 is that he tends to make generalizations, and is extremely biased. I don’t blame him for his experience, but it tends to get on my nerves at times, and he seems a little too vocal about it. To be fair, I was probably pretty snarky, and I could have been more tactful. I appologize for that.

(Actually, I got pitted once before but it was mostly over a misunderstanding. The board was theoretically going to completely get rid of threads that hadn’t been posted to since some cutoff date, and Ed Zotti told us to bump any threads we wanted to preserve before they did so. This is the first time I’ve been pitted where it felt “for real”).
No hard feelings. I may not agree with your opinions, either about psychiatry or about my posting habits re: matters psychiatric, but I’ll try to listen nevertheless.
