Anyone seen them during this current tour? I have a chance to go tomorrow night and I’m leaning towards not going. I’m a casual fan now and was a huge fan back in the late 80’s and early 90s. They’re at Soldier Field in Chicago tomorrow and I can tag along with friends and coworkers for the cost of a case of good beer. But, I haven’t liked a stadium show, outside of Billy Joel at Wrigley, since I saw Genesis at the Orange Bowl.
Guns n’ Roses were my “gateway” drug into heavier music back in the day.
Judging from a review of an earlier Chicago show (Friday) they still know how to put on a show, even and especially the visibly aged Axl. The setlist contained way too much crap from Chinese Democracy and too many covers, but all the classics were played.
If you still enjoy the old material immensely, (as opposed to Chinese Democracy) as some random guy on the internet, I’d say go. You’ll remember it more than a case of Budweiser.
Well, decision made, I’m going. Ticket cost me a case of Langunitas Little Sumpin’ Sumpin.
