I have tickets for GUNS'N'ROSES!

I’m going to see Guns’n’Roses! HA HAAAAAA! YESSSS! Rock on! It turns out that they have a world tour to coincide with the lauch of their new album, Chinese Democracy. Only they have so far failed to actually produce this album. Anyway, I need to go shopping for some bandanas and a distressed denim jacket with studs.
With any luck, the Guns are back.

Do you think they’ll actually perform? Or is Axl going to throw a hissy fit after three songs because his monitors don’t sound right or there weren’t enough hookers backstage or whatever and then stalk off the stage?

I have just spent a load of money on tickets. I am going to spend more money on utterly stupid clothing, and then I will have to drag myself to the bloody London Docklands. If Axl decides that he can’t sing because there’s November Rain in August, I will be extremely annoyed. I’m not sure what I could actually do about it, as I am unwilling to do the things that are necessary to be admitted backstage.
However, as long as he asks us if we know where the f*** we are, and then informs us that we are in fact in the jungle, I’ll be reasonably happy.

Isn’t Axl a tired old showgirl these days?

Well he’s about forty or so, so he’s still quite young for the increasingly geriatric world of rock. To the chaps from ZZTop or the Rolling Stones or Alice Cooper, Axl Rose is just a kid. Now I can find out if the man still has it. I hope so, and I hope that their tour will be a massive success, and that this will mean that rock will reign supreme again and that N’Sync, Britney Spears and that lot will bugger off and leave us alone.

Any original members besides Axl playing?

Guns & Roses are over, they died in the 90’s.

They Suck Ass, Once upon a Time they were good,
but now they Blow.

Figures that they would tour in the UK, cause they sure as HELL
won’t tour the States, why - because no-one will see them.

They’re touring Hong Kong, Osaka, Tokyo, Brussels and London. You’re right, there’s a conspicuous absence of US venues there. I suspect that this is something of a tester to see if they can regain an audience with their new material and lineup. But I’m going to refrain from saying whether they “blow” or not until I have heard them. Who knows, this could be the rebirth of something beautiful.

I wonder if Axl would throw one of his hissy fits in the land that perfected hooliganism to an artform. Or will he just cancel the show before exposing himself to any danger.

I hope the show goes off since you want to see it so badly,Zorro, but this is Axl Rose. The man should be the headliner of the next VH-1 Divas Live special.

I saw Guns’n’Roses once. They played 5 songs-- just one of which was a single-- and fled the stage, which caused a riot in the Big O.

Didn’t know they were still around. Saw them live in like 92 and they were really good. I am surprised to hear of hissy fits and walk offs, they were great when I saw them and put on one hell of a show.

I thought they had all died in a plane crash, along with Poison, Michael Jackson, Twisted Sister and all those “bands” from the “glory days” the town ancients speak of with so much nostalgia. I never liked them, even when they were hot, and their new tour sounds suspicious. Anyway, I hope for the best and wish you enjoy it, Zorro.

Awww, lothos, c’mon!! You can’t compare GNR to Twisted Sister (let alone Michael Jackson). I know they act like spoiled little kids on Percodan, but they were one of maybe three or four original kick-ass acts in the 80’s, which, if you remember, were so terrible music-wise that half the teenagers started listening to 60’s groups, such as The Stones, The Who, and Ringo-fucking-Starr. You COULD almost say that groups like Poison were to blame for bell-bottoms and granny glasses coming back into style.

Yeah, yeah, GNR self-imploded almost as soon as they became famous, but that kind of goes back to “What makes you, breaks you.” I’d have to say that they were easily the most genuine, kick-ass mainstream sound of the 80’s (Metallica didn’t really go mainstream until the 90’s), and they had all the energy in the world. I’m glad they’re back.

Intaglio,

They sold out a couple of shows at The Hard Rock Casino out in Vegas a few years back, and Vegas is in the US, so therefore you are…/John McLaughlin/ WRONG!!

Plus they were the biggest draw at Rock in Rio a few years back. According to an interview with Axl at the official G’N’R website, Chinese Democracy is all done except for the ordering of the songs. /Sideshow Bob/ Shudder.

As far as original members, Axl is the only one left, but he has Dizzy Reed from the Use Your Illusion days as one keyboardist.

I saw them twice, once when Skid Row opened for them, and then when they co-headlined with Metallica.

Tell us how the concert was, okay Zorro?

Please- there is no G’N’R without Slash. But, yeah, how was the show?

I don’t know how the show was, as it’s on Monday night. I really hope that it’s good, and that my predilection for listening to their music stops being viewed as sad. But I will let you know how it was, at length and in detail.

I don’t know how the show was, as it’s on Monday night. But I will take great pleasure in telling you all how it was, at length and in detail. Apparently they have a new lead guitarist who always wears a KFC cardboard bucket on his head, which is an interesting fashion choice. It’s not really what springs to mind when you think of rock’n’roll style, but if they kick off again properly, it will be a lot of fun to see a load of fans wearing this type of headwear.

Ah, yes … Buckethead. Couldn’t he wear something classy, like a Cat In The Hat hat, or that strange headgear that that one Cosby kid wears (Donald? Mushmouth? I forget)?

Buckethead left after ONE gig. He’s no longer there I understand.

There is no Guns and Roses without Izzy Stradlin’. He was the heart and soul of the band.

I saw em’ way back in 1988 when they were hungry and “Appetite” hadn’t broke yet. THAT was a rock and roll show!
