At least that’s what Rolling Stone says, but a rep for geffen said they hadn’t heard anything about it, which doesn’t bode well.
Considering that Axl seems to have turned into the most insanely perfectionist person in history, I can’t believe there would be less then 2 months lead time to the new Guns album.
Of course, Guns had been out on tour performing songs from Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 for 3 months before the album was released and they sold 14,000,000.
I liked Guns N’ Roses a lot for a while. That was until I saw them live. I saw them on tour with Metallica. Metallica played first, put on a hell of a show, basically they kicked ass. G N’ R came out played two songs and started on the third. Axl stopped the song about 12 bars in. He then yelled into the microphone “Which one of you fuckheads threw a lighter at me?” The operative word being you. He called all 20,000 or so people in the stadium fuckheads. We left as did about 3/4’s of the rest of the audience. Since then I refuse to buy any Axl related stuff.
It’s sad really. He has a hell of a voice and had a good thing going but had to screw it up by being a total jackass.
I predict this CD will bomb whenever it comes out.
You’re nuts dude. This thing could be an hour long recording of cats getting skinned alive and it would still go platinum. Too many people have waited too long for this album for it not to. You’ve got to figure that GnR are already a worldwide success and the album will sell worldwide, not just in USA.
Expect to see it gracing the shelves of a lot of second hand stores and copies of it overflowing out of bargain bins a year or so after it comes out. People might buy it because it’s Axl, but something that he’s spent so much time on is almost certain to be a an overproduced, overworked mess.
