On the one hand, she’s brilliant, funny and self-confident (within her professional sphere).
On the other hand, she’s homely. And a bit weird.
So, do her mental faculties and personality overcome her looks? Would you date her?

Sexy? No.
Beautiful? Yes.
Close on my end
Sexy? No
Pretty? Yes.
I prefer the more homely looking/down to earth/girl next door kind of girl, and while she’s definitely a pretty girl, I never saw her and thought “WOW look at THAT!”
If you look at her photos on Google, Mayim Bilaik is not unattractive in real life. On Big Bang, she’s been made up to look dowdy, especially in the early episodes. Her look has changed slightly in recent ones (her hair is more flattering, in particular).
I’ve always liked Amy. Of all the characters, she’s the one I’d most like to spend an evening with. Start doing it regularly, and yeah, I can imagine her growing on me.
Not sexy, not funny. Not a very professional scientist, either, judging by her bringing her smoking monkey home.
I find her the funniest character on the show, and I like the show.
The way she lets Sheldon walk all over her is very unattractive.
Not a chance but then again I’ve never understood people who say personality is attractive. My best female friend, non wife category, looks like she got hit in the face with a shovel while I love spending days with her there is no reason I’d take her to bed.
I like the show, but I find myself laughing at her, not with her.
careful, you do not want to let her get into your head
Amy Farrah Fowler is neither sexy nor pretty or attractive at all.
Mayim Bilaik is not a raving beauty but she is quite attractive. Acting!
Loach nailed it. I’d do Mayim but definitely not AFF.
Because the writers have gradually developed her from “female Sheldon” into the “voice of reason” role that was previously Penny’s and Leonard’s.
I think she’s the prettiest out of all three. Sure, Penny is hot(but that gets old quick) and Bernadette is cute but Amy has this quirkyness that makes her pretty and funny in the show. Obviously, thactress is beautiful outside of th big Bang but Amy is my choice out of all the three girls.
It was pretty much inevitable that she would start to change after hanging out with even relatively normal people. She apparently had absolutely no social life prior to meeting Sheldon and the others in his group. The scenes where he female instincts started to kick in after she saw Zack for the first time were particularly funny.
I’m not familiar with the show, but my general comment would be: pretty is nice, but what matters to me is how well a woman and I connect as people. If we’ve got that going for us, then her looks only come into play AFAIAC if there’s something seriously wrong with them, well past the ‘kinda plain or nerdy looking’ sort of level. If a woman had no chin to speak of, or had a face that looked like one of those Easter Island monoliths, that would be a problem for me. But if I liked her, it would take something fairly extreme in the looks department for her looks to disqualify her.
Judging by the images that turned up on Google, that wouldn’t apply in her case. (And yes, I’m talking about the character, and not the actress as she looks when she’s not in character.)
Oh, no, don’t agree at all. I would rank them with Bernadette first, Penny second and Amy third. And Amy is not sexy at all. Smart and funny, yes, but not sexy.
As a kid, I actually thought Blossom was cute and interesting. As an adult, I find Amy Farrah Fowler neither.
I think Mayim Bialik is quite interesting, but has actually never been very cute, IMO.
Acting!
I agree with this ranking. In fact, if we’re allowed to count recurring characters (but not one-offs), she might not make the top ten. Amy is not sexy, not hot, not beautiful, and only moderately pretty. The actor is, objectively, attractive, I’ll stipulate.
She lets sheldon abuse her and for a brilliant scientist, she cannot figure out how to get her needs met without aeeming extremely desperate. So no, not attractive or sexy.
