So the experience began today. However I missed the first few minutes so could someone who did please tell me what happened up until he was confronted by those guards?
Actually I only caught it by pure luck. I am looking forward to not only this but also the game which looks right up my alley. Just 2 things though. 1) Dammit, why is it on Saturday? I’m going to forget to watch a lot of episodes! 2) Dammit, why don’t they have a repeat!
Dammit, why don’t you get a TiVo?
You didn’t miss anything. He just wakes up inside that treasure room, the one that looks like the inside of a whale or something. He doesn’t remember what happened or where he got there. The girl hunter comes up to him and gives her name (which I immediately forgot), then comments on the staff he’s carrying. She says he must be a very powerful character; she’s never seen a staff like that before. He says nothing, then pulls out his special ocarina and teleports out of there, then meets the guards.
I’d been really looking forward to this, a lot. It still looks interesting enough, I guess, but it seems like they took the whole “anime is supposed to be obtuse” idea and just ran with it. I couldn’t follow a bit of what was going on in the TV show. If I hadn’t already read a synopsis of the set-up, I wouldn’t have been able to follow it at all.
Thanks Sol. I’m glad I was right to be confused or at least at a loss as to what happened to that thing he was riding. Actually I already have my TV set up to turn to that channel every saturday. I guess I’ll do my VCR too. It will be annoying if I’m doing anything else at the time but I’ll survive. Plus with a TV, a cable box, a VCR, a DVD player, a laserdisc player and a PS2 all plugged in I have no space for anything else. And oh the wires, the wires! (I know, wah wah I have too much stuff)
I too am pretty pysched about the whole thing. I can’t wait for the game which to me will be the best part. Although with 5 parts at $50 each it’s gonna bite. But oh well. As long as their fun.
Here’s a cast list from TV Tome. Wierd … I could have sworn Tsukasa (the main character) was voiced by the guy who did Jim Hawkins in Outlaw Star.
I watched the whole thing through fansubs. The story is pretty interesting but doesn’t really get going until episode 12 or so. Its certainly not an anime for all, but I found it to be quite enjoyable.
