So I finally got the mess straightened out with comcast and my Linux computer is finally connected to the internet with a static IP. I finally got the mess straightened out with my domain name registrar so that my computer is its own primary DNS.
Two days later, I find I can’t do anything because my nameserver fell victim to a script attack, the result of a random port scan, and there’s a few new files laying around including /var/named/ADMROCKS.
I’m not all that upset…more annoyed, actually. It’s my own fault because I’ve been lazy with installing security patches.
So guess what I’m doing today?
(Oh, the proxy at work blocks me from getting to securityfocus.com, so if anybody has tips on how to fix the hole I got hit with, help is appreciated!)
I’d love to help you out…
Unfortunately I have no idea what you’re talking about. Here’s how I read your post …

I’m not all that upset…more annoyed, actually. It’s my own fault because the eagle has landed and the fat man walks alone.

So the best I can offer is this: hit your computer really hard and hope it clears up.
