Technically, I finished last.
Next time, next time. I actually thought we could make our own words like in the game Scrabble since the term was tossed out there a few times (crisk!), but that was only in the very early stages of the game. Once I got the hang of it (sort of) I was too busy to keep up with the thread often enough to make the necessary plays.
But it was still fun to watch and be a part of. The real Hagglers made it interesting enough just to be in the loop.
I can’t even imagine the amount of time that crisk spent on this thread so my sincere thanks to him/her has been extended.
And to the rest of you bast…errr, Hagglers…

I actually thought about that when compiling the rules, but figured that it would make scoring a nightmare, because I’d have to either get a list of words from each player and rule on their validity, or… well, searching for valid words myself would have been so impossible.
And yes, I did look through the list of ‘things to know about the SDMB’ in the announcements to get ideas for the spelling rules.
For the record, there’s an h in my username. 
And think of it this way, Uncommon Sense - you did better than sachertorte, and much better than the three players who abandoned the game entirely!

Hey, just checking in for the first time. I am back from vacation. I am pleased with the corp gambit. I was hoping to get 49% of the final value of the portfolio with any IOU’s being incurred peronally by the player, but I wasn’t expecting it after the couple of PM’s you sent. I didn’t really have time to keep playing, but it was lots of fun to be able to keep a stake in the game and follow along.
I will gladly play again, but would request a shorter timeframe. I think one week is good.
