Haggle: The Dragon's hoard [closed]

Oh boy. Two heads making the ruleset?

Im not going to have to know algebra for this, will I ?

A Haggle like game is found in this Article, which itself is good for its own merit.

A School had to ban Legos because of politics, “cool pieces”, and in-groups. Near the middle, to second end of the article, a Haggle type game is played, among 5-7 year olds.

All signed-up players have confirmed except for Thing Fish, who might not be able to get on for the weekend.

All right, the good Fish has confirmed, but I’m sorry, I still don’t have the starting packages ready. :o

Kickoff should be sometime this evening before 9 pm.

The brave and adventurous Dopers managed to find the great Dragon in his underground lair, and defeated its Orc servants and the Wyrm himself in a glorious battle. Then, searching the dungeon, each of the nine heroes began to amass their share of the treasure horde.

As they wait for the dawn and travel back to town, they will all have many chances to bargain and trade in their new found loot. Whoever has items of the most value when they arrive in Doperville will be judged the winner.

Among the treasures are scrolls which contain secrets about the relevant exchange rates, how to evaluate the treasures, the uses of certain enchanted items and more.

The initial haphazard division of the loot is as follows:

I’ll PM out the rules, and the return to start trading and add a few more notes about the game.

Ohh, I love this platinum necklace!

Okay, PMs have all been sent out. Let’s see… because of the theme of this game, copying scrolls is NOT permitted, and the default if you don’t mention that you’re only offering to let somebody else look at one of your scrolls, then it’s assumed you’re trading the scroll away.

I will allow trades of secondhand, thirdhand information etcetera - if you clearly offer that you will trade somebody information that you’ve seen in a scroll you don’t have at the time, such an offer cannot be accepted. These trades are caveat emptor - the person offering the recycled info will make out the PM to the recepient and me, and I’ll only be looking at it for posterity, I won’t be enforcing that such PMs carry correct info.

Roleplaying for local color, such as identifying what character class you are in the party, is encouraged but has no effect on the rules of scoring or trading. Wizards can even cast charm on their would-be trade partners, but it’s up to the subject of the spell how well it works.

End of trading will be next thursday evening at 9 pm EDT, that usually works out well, so May the 15th.

Good luck heroes!
ETA: rings the trading bell

Santo#1 - Oredigger, I’ll trade you a COPY of rule 12 for a COPY of rule 18

Santo # 2 - sinjin, I’ll trade you a LOOK at rule 13 for a LOOK at rule 16.

Santo # 3 - ArizonaTeach, I’ll trade you a COPY of 11 for a COPY of rule 3.

Santo # 4 - MHaye, I’ll trade you a LOOK at rule 8 for a LOOK at rule 12 OR 13, your choice.

Ok I’ll accept lock for look of 12 for 18

edit as per the no copy rule

Meeko#1: Antinor01 - I Will trade a COPY of Rule 5 for a COPY of Rule 1

Santo # 5 - Meeko, I’ll trade you a COPY of rule 5 for a COPY of rule 3.

Wait…I thought copying scrolls wasn’t permitted?

digger #1: SINJIN I’ll trade you a look at 14, 15, and 17 for a look at rules # 2, 3, and 4

Ok I’m a bit confused here. Chrisk said copying scrolls (rules) is against the rules. Can someone in little words explain to me the difference between copying, trading and offering a look?

Meeko #2 Santo (Santo #5) Only if I can change 1 of my Gold for 7 of your Copper.

ArizonaTeach #1 - Open Trade: I will trade 3 gold for 1 potion.

PM-ed out as looks.

Try to avoid editing, players. You can revise your offers in new posts. And do not use ‘copy’ as a euphemism for ‘look’ or anything else in trades, okay?
