My legs are hairy.
Very hairy.
I haven’t shaved in about 6 months. I do, occasionally, while bored, pick at the hairs with a tweezer because I find that sometimes they never grow back.
But I think that all will change today. I’ve never waxed at home and am way too lazy to go to the pharmacy to pick up a kit. But, my boyfriend left a pack of razors here.
To shave, or not to shave?
Have a pro wax those babies. I can’t imagine hacking through six months of growth.
I would love to get my legs waxed but can’t imagine letting the hair grow long enough for it.
I may attempt it now, though - last shave was on Thursday am and there’s no need for smooth legs until around Christmas time. I can go without wearing short skirts that long, I’m sure.

Well, I decided to take your advice.
I called up my local, friendly waxing place. Fund out a wax for half-leg costs 18$ + tax (15%). More expensive than I thought. But ok. Then I found out the first appointment I could get is on Tuesday.
I just cannot wait that long! All of a sudden, the hairs mock me. I think I’ll shave today, then in another two weeks go wax. You guys have another 30 minutes to stop me from making the biggest mistake of my life. 
And I snicker at waxing babies! The people at my waxing place are adults!
How cold is it where you live? You may want to keep them hairy for warmths sake. You will also have to go through the annoying growing back period that is ugly no matter what you do. I say you should keepem’ hairy until you get them waxed. I hope it’s not to late.

And Shera, I live in Montreal. Leg hairs aren’t going to help me much at this time of year, only fleece can do that.
The reason I’ve let them grow so long is that noone ever sees them but me and my boyfriend. I’m a pants girl. SDo the ugly phase doesn’t bother me.
I usually don’t shave 'cause… Well, maybe I’m the only one that gets this, but for the next few days, my legs feel like they’re covered or something. I just don’t get the same sensation from them being touched.

Wow. I thought I had written this for a moment there.
I’m keeping mine hairy for now…I hate gowing through the prickly stubble phase. It’s cold anyways and I’ll take any kind of warmth the hair on my body can give me.

Really - the wax will go much smoother (no pun intended) the more hair growth you have. With only 2 weeks worth, you may as well not even bother - you’ll have hair back the next day. Now, 6 months of growth, OTOH, will leave your legs lovely and smooth for WEEKS at the very least.
I’d also go for the professional waxing. I try to go whenever I can afford it, because it means no having to shave for close to two months.
I still haven’t worked up the courage for a brazilian bikini wax, though. I don’t know if I want Helga that close to my hoo-hah.

I’m not dating, I wear pants outside the house except if doing yard work and now it’s winter so I really don’t worry about it.
Luckily the hair on the lower part of the knee on up is very fine hair, it’s just the lower legs that look kinda non-girly.
It may be because I have thick skin, but to me the idea of letting body hair grow for warmth is bizarre - I don’t see how it could make a significant difference.
I would be totally incapable of willingly going six months without shaving. Of course, I shave for myself rather than other people… since I’m going to see and feel the hair I have to shave. Equally intolerable would be a girlfriend who didn’t shave for six months.
I only shave every 3-4 weeks or so. I would keep my legs hairy all fall/winter long, but I wear shorts for gym class so I gotta preserve some dignity. I must say, though, I love the feeling of newly-shaved legs in a pair of jeans.
Perhaps this is a good place to ask this…What is the difference between a Brazilian bikini wax and a regular bikini wax?
I haven’t shaved my legs in 7 and a half years, and crips are they hairy.
Oh, FireUnderpantsBoobs (first time I’ve typed that, and I find it strangely exciting)- I believe a Brazilian leaves nothing but a small triangle just above the sheshe.
I just wanted to say that I feel the same way – my legs are much less sensitive when shaved (which is practically never. Not shaving is not a political statement on my part. its just that I can’t be bothered…)
I’ve done the full-leg wax and it was pretty cool. I wish I could afford it on a regular basis.
Weird. Mine are much more sensitive - putting on pants becomes an intense experience.
