As if anyone cares that much about the game they are showing anyway, NBC spent the halftime of their Sunday evening game, on a day where there are great highlights to show from around the league, sitting in the studio with the lights out and burning candles (to save energy) and talking to Matt Lauer on some goddamn glacier where he was whining about global warming.
I mean really, NBC, isn’t it enough that your entire news division is servile propagandist for the left agenda? Can’t we watch a football halftime show and maybe have it be about FOOTBALL! I am really getting sick of the Big Lie being pounded in at every opportunity. It is beyond scary, it is now boring and annoying, and that is really pissing me off.
NBC and Bob Costas (who with his clout and intellect should have known better and refused) both need a good hard cockpunch.
I know. I really wish they would stop with these stupid “global warming” scare tactics and just focus on the ever increasing threats of terrorism, abortion, and gay marriage like the good people at Fox.
Now, see, you had a point when you were just rolling your eyes about a dark studio and talking about global warming instead of the football everyone tuned in to see.
But when you went and called global warming “leftist” and “the Big Lie”, that’s when you revealed yourself to be a complete moron, and lost the thread. Sorry, but thanks for playing BBQ Pit, better luck next time.
It just boggles my mind that people who voted for the Right in 2004 because of abortion, gay marriage, and the supposedly inevitable threat of an attack on american soil consider conservation to be a scare tactic.
That’s right, conservation as a scare tactic.
What I really want to know from the right is…how does conserving energy and resources damage America or the American people? Silly me, I figured that maybe conserving might make this world a better place for our children. But the Right only seem to care about children from conception until birth.
Y’know, when FOX covers football, the halftime show is about FOOTBALL. Watch it and see. Sorry you can’t see the constant bleat of the lefty propaganda. I guess you just drink the kool-aid and roll around in cushy feeling that you are smarter than George Bush. Congrats to ya!
If Global Warming (tm, all rights reserved, Al Gore Inc.) is so obvious, why all the propaganda?
Okay, you fucking nutjob, please explain to me how conservation is propaganda? Propaganda for WHAT? Turn out your lights so the liberals can sneak into you houses and give your wives abortions?
NBC is owned by General Electric, one of the biggest conglomerates in the world. Are they attempting to sabotage themselves with all of this propaganda?
You had me with the whole “get back to the football!” rant, but as Menocchio said, once you got on about the leftist propaganda, you revealed that your mom was probably doing some pretty heavy drugs while you were in utero. A tragedy.
Q: If breast cancer, AIDS, the genocide in Darfur, drug abuse, and drunk driving are so obvious, why all the propaganda?
A: Because these are ongoing problems of great importance, and raising public awareness of them will help to alleviate them, both through direct action of the public (ie, women getting mammograms and people having safer sex), and through indirect action (monetary donations from the public and pressure upon the government).
Once again, if you had limited your complaint to the venue and manner of the global warming message, you’d probably find little opposition in this thread. But you had to go and say that global warming isn’t actually a problem, so most of us will call you various synonyms of “moron” for the next few pages until we get bored or the moderators lock this thing down.
I would prefer to call it a SCARY tactic. GW’s existence, cause, and/or detrimental effects will never be proven in anyone’s lifetime, yet it provides a blank check for those who want to control and regulate everything on earth.
Furthermore, I don’t give a rat’s ass about what kind of bimbo gets an abortion, or what two gay dudes do. Regarding terrorism, I will sleep better under a Republican administration any day.
I am concerned with being told what to do. I drive a large conversion van and it suits me very well. I can load a bunch of people in it, load 4x8 sheet material, run several business, but it gets crappy gas mileage. It hurts ME when the government controls through legislation or taxation what vehicles I can choose to buy. The idea that I should be controlled by the government in the “land of the free” over an idea that is at best controversial and unproven (and I, for one, smell a scam, big time) is not necessarily what is best for me, my children, or the planet.
You may have sipped Al Gore’s kool-aid, buy not all of us have. Still, if you can convince enough dupes, you can exercise the tyranny of the majority over me. I don’t really care all that much. I am beyond worrying, I make money either way you do it. Tell me the rules, and I will play your dumbass game and win. Just keep it off my Football, you greenie assholes. I would be just as incensed if Bob Costas was recruiting for the Young Republicans during halftime. IT IS NOT GERMAIN, FUCKWIT.
I hear that Prius owners are very intelligent and superior, but they don’t seem very smart to me when they jump out in front of my 8000 lb. van from a side street, forcing me to romp my brakes, risking injury to my passengers, my dog, my cargo. I hope I react in time the next time. And the next. And the next.
Or you can stay out of my way and be sure you don’t have trouble.
It was a goofy stunt, and the self-promotion was irritating. And while I was stunned by how much power they use at that studio, I wondered how much energy they used to get their correspondents and crews to those locations around the world and make the special in the first place. Did that all even out?

These days, more money is spent on women’s diseases than men’s, yet women live longer. I don’t give money to breast cancer and will not be propagandized to do so.
The genocide in Darfur is due to muslim scum, which when we fight them in countries that would harm us we are condemned by the left. As far as I am concerned, Africa is a hellhole that would be better off without our aid or interference.
Drug abuse is as manfuactured a problem as is global warming. Yet another excuse to remove rights and let the government intrude.
The FOUNDER of MADD has denounced their agenda. Drunk driving is at an all time low, and now they are enforcing the law against people who aren’t even legally drunk, driving, or anything.
It is nice to know you have drunk all the flavors of Kool-Aid.
I’ve never been a fan of MADD or U.S. drug policies, but the next time somebody asks me what a non sequitur is, I may show them this post.
Whatever the solutions to those problems are, your question didn’t make sense. Once we learn something is true, does everybody automatically know about it?
Hell, I bet the creation and burning of the candles used up more energy and did more damage to the environment than keeping the overhead studio lights on would have been.
This post is an awesome, ignorant tour de force. It deserves archiving, or possibly printing in tiny font under the “it’s taking longer than we thought.”
You know who else has sipped Al Gore’s Kool-aid? NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS); The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA); The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); The National Academy of Sciences (NAS); The State of the Canadian Cryosphere (SOCC); The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); The Royal Society of the UK (RS); The American Geophysical Union (AGU); The American Meteorological Society (AMS): And the American Institute of Physics (AIP).
To name but a few.
But if the support of all those pointy-headed little Poindexters is unpersuasive, consider the opinions of these key Big Oil representatives:
And check out this letter from 18 CEO’s of Canada’s largest corporations. Money quote:
Now, I’m going to make what I hope is a stunningly uncontroversial judgement call and say that it is somewhat unlikely that the eeeeevil environazi’s have managed to infiltrate the press offices of the largest oil companies on the planet, to say nothing of the U.N. and the most august scientific bodies of every developed nation. I hope you’re on board with that. I would also hope that you’d have the humility to realise that if a theory is supported by so very many diverse institutions, and is considered credible enough for the most prestigious scientific organisations in the world to hang their credibility on, you might not be the only guy who knows what’s going on. Would you agree?
