Blerf and stuff. At least it’s a bit cooler today - that is highly agreeable!
2nd.
Blurf. Where is everyone? Swampy and Moooommmm habe usually posted by now. Have a great new week everyone.
At 4am, it was still 75 degrees here. Between that, and the fact that I was even up that early (and had been for a couple of hours), this is not going to be a delightful day, especially with significant website revisions having gone live over the weekend, so I can expect a lot of freaked out (“OMG I got hacked!”) and/or angry (“How dare you change this?”) callers. Ugh.
Says something that I’m looking forward to hauling DH to the hospital for surgery Wednesday because I’ll at least be off the phone.
Dang, swampy must’ve had a long night, if he’s still hibernating.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, fed, and even started spiffin’ da cave already! Go Us! ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. with the usual unogly humidity. IOW, it’s still August. Other than spiffin’ da cave, I must go to the pharmacy at some point to pick up my cholesterol med. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy.
nettie good luck with customer dealin’ with CHANGE to the website.
shoe I’m awake!
OK, I suppose I must return to defilthification of da cave. Le Sigh.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
I’ve been coping remarkably well with quarantine living, all things considered. But it had to catch up with me eventually. I think that time may be now.
Morning all. I have a sharp pain in my left heel, I can put weight on it but movement and twisting it hurts enough that I limp some. I’d say it was a result of refereeing that soccer game on Saturday, but this came on about 28 hours later. Didn’t feel anything ‘pop’ or that, and I had the foot propped up, so I don’t know what it is. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow and I’ll consider seeing the Doc if it’s still painful. Oh joy.
Outside of that, just another day in N. Ali-bama. 74F heading for 89F with no chance of rain. Need to make up my weekly to-do/to-eat list this morning, fetch my Jersey Mike’s Moanday sammich and whatever else needs to be done.
Bat boy, good to hear from ya, even if you’re stir-crazy (think most of us are). What’s the matter?
Nettie, hang in there. I presume the customers have been fully notified the changes are coming and have ignored all communications, so this will come as a ‘surprise’ to them. Have fun.
All y’all take care now.
For the record, I didn’t start this week because I started last week and I didn’t want to seem pushy. Well that and I didn’t have an idea for a starter (like that matters…)
Back from my walk - I missed it, what with the rainy weekend. Daughter is at school for some kind of training, and this afternoon, she’s going up to my mom’s to hang with my sister in the pool. SIL has work from 11-3, so I’ve got Roxy duty.
It was 63° when I got up and it’s still not 70° here - yay! Once it warms a bit more, I’ll close up the house again, but for now, the fresh air is nice. No real plans for the rest of the day - I should probably decide about supper and pull something out of the freezer. Eventually.
Happy Moanday!!
Saturday was our fifth wedding anniversary. I forgot.
It doesn’t bother me too much, since Mrs. L.A. never remembers and it’s always a surprise for her. But it does bother me a little. Mrs. L.A. said last night, ‘Yesterday was our anniversary!’ I was distracted by a pretty heavy load of work at my job, and then there was the suspected raccoon family under the house. (I don’t think they moved in, but I did make a raccoon excluder for the crawlspace opening.) And other domestic tasks.
Anyway, we might go out to dinner tonight – though I’ll have to watch it, since tomorrow is a commuting day.
Last night I grilled wild-caught salmon and asparagus on the barbie.
Just Cabin Fever, I guess. We’ve been in Stage 4 lockdown here in Melbourne for two weeks, with four more yet to come. After such a long time quietly conforming to the rules expected of us, to be in even harder restrictions is not where I would’ve liked to be by now. I want to go to the park or visit some of my favourite Cafes. It’s frustrating having everywhere unavailable.
Happy Moonday!
It was 61 degrees when I went to the park this morning.
Nice, but not normal for August.
Foster mom at the park has a new foster puppy, looks a bit like Tucker. She is only about 10 weeks old and still a little shy. Ripple loves puppies, he wanted her to play, but she is a bit timid.
I’m a bit pissed off at irk, again.
I had a request come in, they are supposed to give us 24 hours notice. They didn’t, and I missed it.
I’m getting more and more annoyed with my PCP. I like her, and don’t want to hurt her feelings, but I want somebody new.
Stormy’s people didn’t come to the park again today. The put in an offer on a house, but not the one I am interested in. I was hoping to ask them about the house to see if it is even worth my time talking to the realtor.
Nettie - I feel your pain.
I don’t cuss the new website anymore, but a lot of the customers do.
Don’t know what I am doing today. I don’t feel like doing anything.
I have been very unmotivated for the last few days.
Gonna be hot all week, I’m afraid, but 80s hot, not upper 90s.
Got our flu shots yesterday. The pharmacist said they expect a huge increase in demand in coming months, with up to 60% of Americans trying to get vaccinated. I encourage you all to get yours now before there is a shortage.
Couldn’t agree with you more.
I figured Swampy was just recovering from excessive deheathenisation this morning.
71, mostly cloudy, predicted high 80. Even odds on thorms tonight. Could be worse… Nothing planned for the day but quick trips to the library and the store. And reading, of course…
Harkening back to the end of last week’s MMP, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Waffle House, but we made the mistake of stopping at a Huddle House on one road trip. I made the mistake of having a waffle with blueberry topping. The topping was spoiled. It was gross. I got sick. And because of that, I’ve been disinclined to go to a Waffle House.
And there’s one IHOP in our county. We breakfasted there once. I got my usual diet soda with breakfast. I drank about half of it, only to discover a big glop of shredded cheese stuck inside my glass. I won’t go eat there any more. ick.
FCD just left for a meeting. Daughter just left for my mom’s house. SIL has left for Chesapeake Beach for his second job. I have a semi-quiet house to myself. Idiot Higgs keeps barking for no reason. We think she’s going blind because she barks and any shape entering the room - even me!
Supper will be hot dogs. Not sure what we’ll have for sides. And so it goes…
Nettie, I feel ya. Almost anything that happens that gets me off the phone is a good thing.
At Irk right now tho
In better news I gotta brag on my rat… he’s been really sick, and I gave him antibiotics… I was trying to use a syringe, but couldn’t get the needle broke off, I looked for an eyedropper but couldn’t find one… dude took his meds from a frikking SPOON. Took 'em like a champion, too. he’s such a good boy!
Double posting to add… Mooooom: With hot dogs, if you’re tired of the usual sides made potatoes Anna, slice NOT’s and add cut up onion, dots of butter , salt and pepper and a little shredded cheese, then bake…YUM.
That sounds yum! And easy! Now, I need something green…
I’ve been putting off making an appointment to get a yearly checkup (bloodwork, etc.). Something else happened so I went in today to get that checked (test results were what I wanted, so that was also good) and managed to make my appointment for a general checkup and to change my gyn to the place across the street, instead of 30 minutes drive.
And after I have my general checkup I might manage to also change my gym to a place that’s across the street.
All of this works better with the expectation that I’ll be working at home 40-60 %, even when we get back to normal. Whenever that is.
And since I’ve been quite happy with my test results, I’ve been humming MMMBop while making lemon poppy seed bread/cake.
And its cold enough to sleep tonight. Which will be good after being awake for 2 hours for no good reason.
So it may be Moanday, but it’s a pretty good day. Except for that work stuff. Which is messy, as usual.
Ah, toddlers… Roxy came out THREE TIMES when she was supposed to be napping. So the last time, I grabbed my tablet, put her back in bed, and planted myself on the rocker in her room. I sat there for about 15 minutes playing a quiet game (I never have the sound on) and she calmed down, then fell asleep. Here’s hoping for at least an hour of peace.
I was looking for recipes for a supper side, and I came across a potato-onion-spinach casserole and I think that will be it. We shall see.
Evening all!
The heavy rain that’s been forecast for days finally hit today, so I didn’t go out anywhere further’n the fruit 'n veg place. It looks like it’s going to rain most of the week, in fact. Oh well, I do have stuff to do on the computer anyway, so maybe that’ll encourage me to get on with it, hopefully squeezing some walkies in between the showers.
Got rattie pics, Janis? (I’ve forgot your Mumper name, or even if you have one.) I miss having small furry pets.
