NurseBBBoo🧑🏼⚕️Agrees, not the best of ideas. Tho, I’m guilt of that too, breakfast doesn’t often interest me for an hour or two after I get up…I learned to keep a protein bar in my backpack when I left the house for irk…speaking of…off to the room of dirty dishes for another cup of caffeine.
Not sure I’m on your Book of Faces but I’d like to be. PM me so I can send you my FB handle?
Been there, done too many times. Learned to make a loo visit last thing before walking out my door and then hitting the loo inside Target‘s entrance before grabbing a cart and heading for the far reaches of the store. Saves me those chances dashes from the very back of the place. Pretty sure I had a strange look on my face when I’d abandon my cart and take off for the facilities, hoping I could find my cart again. Used to get in my power walking miles that way.
BBBoo - I did hit the potty before leaving, but this morning it was not enough, apparently. I’ve been making an effort to drink more water, and that exacerbates the problem.
I’m thinking the RoxStar is about to enter another growth spurt. So far this morning, she’s had a banana, 2 pieces of jelly toast (asked for a 3rd, but I declined) and some grapes. That’s a lot in a little belly. She’ll be excited to have her leftover pizza for lunch in about 10 minutes.
I have no idea what we’ll do for supper tonight. I used to love going to Cracker Barrel for their Friday Fish Fry. Unfortunately, they don’t do it for take-out for some reason. I need to see if anyone else close by has fish-n-chips to go.
Went with my friend to see her new liver doctor. I’m so worried for her. She and her husband have been through some crazy shit the past few years and they of all people deserve a damn break.
After that I had gallons and gallons of coffee. I lifted weights for reals last night (meaning completed an organized, thorough workout at home rather than half-assed spotty workouts) and my butt hurts so bad, like “jeez, it hurts to sit on the toilet” hurts.
We’re also prepping for online school this weekend. I’m tired of all the bitching about face masks and home schooling, especially from those people I know work from home most of the time. Yes, it’s hard. It sucks. But like my mom used to say when I’d complain about the inevitable, “Overly, we’re all inconvenienced. But it’s something you can’t change, suck it up and try to deal with this with a little grace.” No matter how many nasty facebook messages you post on the local district website, how many threats you make and how many times you refer to the county as “the autonomous zone,” it simply isn’t safe to send your kid to school. And they’ve gotta wear a freaking mask.
In other news, I’m now quoting my mom. What has this world come to?!
Was at the park for three hours this morning. It was a nice and cool 66 degrees.
Came home and remembered to take the clothes out of the washer that I forgot yesterday.
Saw the mail from yesterday lying on the floor. It was a letter from city housing. I expected it to be something to do with two doors up, but it them wanting a reference from me. For somebody I have never heard of who wants to rent public housing. Since there was no return envelope for the form, I called them instead.
I guess my computer went down overnight, because I am logged out of everything and I have to put in the passwords. I had a hell of a time getting to my email.
Fence guy is supposed to come over or call this morning. Have not heard from him.
OAOASO called me this morning. He needs help. Son2 was high on something and attacked him yesterday. He found out Son2 has been stealing from him and wants to bring some stuff here for safe keeping. I am very disappointed, I really like Son2. It seems to be a huge mess. I have never heard OAOASO so angry, and I have never heard him use the language he used this morning. He is supposed to come by some time today. He’s probably more hurt than angry.
I took the morning off irk. I don’t know wtf is going on with anything today, so I’m just going to finish laundry and some other stuff and wait to see who, if anybody, is coming by and when.
Just heard, fence guy is coming by to talk about the fence and is going to start on it Monday.
FCM - what do you think people do during dance marathons, and stay awake and keep your hand on the car marathons? Yep, good ole depends.
I need to get busy around here, lots to do.
Pics of the brats
Cookie, I know the fact it’s normal to have these sad spells doesn’t make them any easier or less inevitable. Sending big hugs and wishing I could do more.
Sari, Adam is beautiful, and the pups are so adorable, I want to reach through my computer screen to give them scritchels. So good to have mental images of them now when you tell us about them!
Mooooom, I’ve had that problem when walking. I’m not near public restrooms, and during the lockdown, those weren’t open anyway. I not only go potty before I leave, I restrict liquid intake before I go–probably not wise on hot days, but I had some frantic, uncomfortable walks home.
Dot, hang in there. We’re all pulling for you every day.
Swampy, you have this magical ability to get me craving whatever you’re having. I hadn’t even thought about banana pudding for years. Now I want some and have none of the ingredients. Also, the scale and I aren’t speaking to each other as it is. I’ll have to eat vicariously.
Howdy Y’all! We have returned from the hog trough, aka GC, havin’ had a late N.O.L./early sup. 'Twas good and we are stuffded. We have not had the deluge promised although it has rained a little. Oh well.
Speakin’ of ‘nanner puddin’, a certain spoiled brat that I live with had to have a bowl of it for breakfast. He’s sixty-five goin’ on seven.
sari great pics of the critters. Ripple has this regal look about him!
Me too-I try to chug a lot during the day but stop about 6p so I don’t have to get up during the night to pee, usually tripping over a cat in the process or into cat barf. I allow myself a small glass of water during dinner. No relaxing over a frosty cold Coke Zero Of an evening for me.
Do you have a Culver’s near you? Mine does great fried fish dinners, baskets and sandwiches-drive thru of course is what I do. Never hurts to get some ice cream while you are there either.
We’re going to order from Crab Knockers - a local fish market that does take-out. We had some of their stuff recently and it’s good, and Daughter will go pick it up. So yay!
Painter came here with his trim guy. They won’t be able to replace the front door, so we’ll find someone to do that. I figured it was too much for one person anyway. I’m thinking I’ll go with a company that does remodeling rather than contracting thru Lowe’s or Home Depot.
Well, we got the back deck blasted and scrubbed, then painted the railings today. The wife is making eggplant Parmesan for dinner and we’ve got some nice French bread to go with. Plus there’s the Fridays at Five concert online today via SFJazz.com.
Thanks for the support, you all. I have to say that Biden’s speech helped raise me out of my funk, along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s scorching take-downs of POTUS and VP Poonce. . .Pince. . .Pants. . .whatever.
The tomatoes are put off until tomorrow and I’ll make a baklava on Sunday. The floor tile replacement downstairs happens starting on Monday and then the carpet guy rolls in behind him. It will be nice to have that work finished.
Today the only cat that hung out with me at irk was Murphy. And occasionally Samantha who was enjoying blessed peace and quiet.
We’re supposed to be getting thunderstorms all night. The greenway will probably be flooded tomorrow, but I’ll check on my way to the library. I am digging this curbside service thing.
I have no brain and no attention span left this week. Off to fritter away the evening!
Evening all. Watched soccer this afternoon and have assimilated the Fettuccine for dinner and will shortly add a few clothes and pay my gas bill and perhaps peruse the neighborhood. Rain has apparently left the area for now, but only got to 80F today, so the AC didn’t have much to do.
Sari, loved the pictures of the menagerie, I’d gladly give them all extra scritches. And hope fence work gets started. Doesn’t take all that long, based om my experience. And can’t for the life of me remember who OAOASO is, but sorry about the problems.
FCM, Boo, haven’t had an accident in a awhile, but I do notice that as I am driving home sometimes, bladder pressure increases my leaps and bounds the closer I get to the house until I am literally leaping from the car and running to the toilet. 3 minutes (and 2 miles before)…nothing. Very strange.
Cookie, glad you’re feeling better and eating great.
Boo, we have a Culver’s open about 3 miles down the road. Don’t care all that much for their 'butterburgers" but do like their fries. Not a fish fancier, so can’t comment on them.
Ok, need to head outside into the great beyond. Have a good Firday night, all.
Have any of y’all tried Andy’s frozen custards? We had one in Missouri and it was amazing. I cannot understand why we don’t have frozen custard west of the rockies.
No idea what we’ll do for dinner. Not feeling inspired.
I walked to the store in the lovely, lovely rain. I’m SO glad we’re having a rainy day! On the way home, one of the bags got too damp and started ripping, but I managed. The walk back is uphill, so I’m drenched and am not sure how much is sweat and how much is water. Water sounds better. Let’s go with that.
Moooom, so glad the closing is only 5 days away!
Boo, no Culver’s out here, but I’ve been a few times when back in the Midwest. All their stuff is yum. I had the fried fish last time I was there. It was top-notch. Argh. No trip back to Chicago this summer also means no Portillo’s Italian beef.
