Halfway through August in the M.M.P

sari, Adam and the pupsters are a good looking bunch. Will Echo get more wrinkly when she gets older?

sunny, I pop into Andy’s once in a while when I’m in the 'Boro. I like their chocolate cones, but have learned not to order the large. :stuck_out_tongue:

hippy , Ralphie is a nice looking cat.

Now, it’s my turn to try:

This is what Nelson does when I’m in the shower.

Irked, came home, didn’t go to the dog park because it was raining. Supper was courtesy of, quite possibly the best stoner drive thru in the midsouth, Cook Out .

https://cookout.com/menu/

I had a steak style with onion rings, a chorizo quesadilla and 32 oz. of tea for under $8. Burp! The burgers are actually good and not tiny (I got a 1/4 pounder).

Now for chillage.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Looks like I need to learn how to do it right.

Awww wookit all the Purdy mammals.

heh here’s my favorite greasy spoon their motto is “if ya leave hungry it ain’t their fault”

Well, we celebrated our 5th anniversary tonight – six days late. We went out for Mexican food and margaritas. I bypassed my usual fajita salad and opted for chicken mole and beans – in spite of my low-carb diet. We each had two 20-ounce Cadillac margaritas. We stopped on the way home for margarita mix and tequila, so I’m having a 16-ouncer now.

I’m very findable on FB. My handle here is my real first name. You can also find me in FCM’s friend list if you’re connected to her. If you need/want more info to find me, drop me a PM. Please do send a message on FB to let me know how you found me, though. I tend to not accept friend requests if I can’t figure out how you connect to me.

All the furkids need hugs.

Let’s see if I can correctly link to Allie:

Not much on my weekend agenda, except some mini-cave defilthing, one supply run, and a lot of time cursing setting up a new device (bought my birthday present today, a newer tablet with a current version of Android and more storage). DH is somewhat self-sufficient at this point within the apartment. Some pain, but he says he’s better off than he was at a similar point last go-round.

Echo looks reefed in that last photo. Dignified, like an old soul … but quite stoned.

Here are mine just because I love them:

This is my boy either keeping a vigil… or waiting for an opportunity. He was a wild-caught feral, captured as an adult. He was always gentle, but never quite tame in the shelter. He’s cuddly now, but I still don’t know that he would ever take to someone else very well.

My little girl- I’ve known her since she was like a week old. Her mother was more like my male: wild caught feral. Four of the five in the litter socialized as you would expect a litter of shelter-raised kittens to, but my girl was very attached to her mother from the get-go and never did really tame well. Because she was BOTH shy AND black, she ended up growing up in the shelter, which meant she became mine.

Both of them are demanding cuddlers now, but really only with me. My whole adult life has been spent doing foster/rescue, so I’m used to working to get an animal ready for adoption/marketable and then… marketing them. It’s weird being like “Nope, doesn’t matter to me if someone else might like them. These are my cats.” Only other animal I’ve ever done with that has been my hospice dog and he was WAY special. Like his collar is hanging from my rearview and even my mom, who does not care at all about my rescue life, knows his name.

I’ve considered a couple other ones. My little girl’s mother and a specific other long-term shy shelter cat. Apart from each other, both my cats seem to really prefer the company of a dog, though, so… it’s an idea. All sort of for the “if I survive” category, I guess. The dog would have to be solidly housebroken and cat-friendly, but I’m otherwise flexible- shy is fine, senior is fine, all manner of cosmetic issues are fine. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirts for dog and human.

Open the picture in FB. Right-click on it and select “Open image in new tab”, then use the URL from the new tab – that way you’re just posting the picture here, not a link to your FB page. (The new URL is really long, so I run it through TinyURL before posting it.)

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort. Today’s my Firday!
: Boops all the snoots :

What’s the image tag again?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 70 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of only 83 (I predict an iceberg in the cee-mint pond!) and rainy. We shall see. Really have no plans for the day or any intention to leave da cave. Much chillage shall ensue. I shall fry up some chikin laigs in the fryer thingy for sup. Some side matter must be decided upon.

I’ve enjoyed all the pics of the critters.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

You can, but you don’t have to do this.

I was going to mow today and maybe hang some laundry out to dry. It is to lafffff!!! I awoke to rain around 3 or so, and it continued for some hours. So no mowage shall not occur. Not sure about laundry - we’ll see if the sun rises or if it stays overcast.

We’re set up with our painter for the 2nd week of Sep. We’re going to buy the molding and the doors that the trim guy will install and I’ll email him the paint colors we’ve chosen. He said he’ll start by doing all the ceilings, then work his way thru the rooms. He figures it’ll take about 2 weeks.

We should be able to move stuff from room to room as he finishes, especially if he starts with the 2 empty bedrooms. Daughter will give us her empty boxes so we can pack our assorted stuff into those rooms and get as much as possible out of the way.

I’ll need to get fabric or curtains for the front window - the current curtains won’t work in the new color scheme. And I need to reupholster the dining room chair seats and the breakfast bar seats. Then we need to decide about living room furniture. The sectional we found that we liked is too big, and frankly, I’m not a real fan of sectionals. So I want to look at recliner sofas and a recliner or two. And new tables.

We’ll also need a new futon mattress, a new queen mattress, and a couple of dressers for each of those bedrooms. The futon will be needed right away - it’ll be for Roxy’s nap time. The rest of the stuff can wait a bit, unless FCD’s folks take us up on our invite - then we’ll need the queen bed. So we shall see how that goes.

I should make a list.

Anyway, onward into the day! Happy Saturday!!

Nelson

See how this works.
Kittehs! Squee!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels in the wash, puppy crate cleaned and fixing to do KP. Once Saturday chores are done, I think I’ll head into the 'Boro to pick up a few things.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Goodness, we’re quiet today!

I’ve done 2 loads of laundry and I looked at fabric and curtains on line - I don’t think I’ll buy either till the painting is done. I was amazed, nay, aghast to see that there are upholstery fabrics that run $50, $60, $70… even over $100/yard!!! :open_mouth: I’ve got 10 seats to cover and I’ll need about 4 yards - I may well have to spend $100 (total) to cover them. It boggles the mind!

And I hate shopping for curtains. I can never seem to find any I like, and I end up buying some that I don’t hate as much. I wouldn’t mind making some - it’s easy enough to do - but again, the price of fabric… so we shall see.

Enjoying a peach from a local farm - non-Amish - YUM!!! Lurves me some fresh peaches!

Afternoon, friends.

Still doing ECT, head still made of steel wool and cottage cheese. It really launches the anxiety aspects of my neuroses into hyperspace, I suppose because I feel like I have less control/say than normal over the minute-to-minute of my day and I also don’t remember properly what I did yesterday or the day before.

I know this is supposed to help and all, but I can’t wait for it to be over.

Mornin’.

All the ambition out there this morning. Made me so tired to read it that I had to sit down with my coffee and rest. Painting and mowing and swimming and furniture figuring out and fabric finding puts me to shame but I love hearing about it. A new couch for me is when I vacuum the cat fur felt off of it. Curtain picking out is easy, whatever they won’t climb, shred or pull down and a color that doesn’t show cat fur. I’m noticing a theme here.

Not going to get to spend Sunday wrangling Harriet, my 3yo grandgirl. Her papa came down with a sore throat yesterday, had a Covid test and now we all have to wait for 72 hours for results. He’s sequestering at home in a guest bedroom. No reason to think he has it, but he’s a collitch professor and he can’t come back to campus til it is known that he doesn’t. I’m bummed out about it but I’m keeping it in perspective I think. I can FaceTime with her in the meantime-lunch and supper are good times to do that cause she’s sitting down in one place and holding still. Man it is fun to watch her eat! We can even have a virtual tea party tomorrow. Til the 72 hours are up, it’s you and me Mumpers, buckle up!

Love all the adorable dog, cat, frog and rat pics. We sure are a bunch of people rich in pets. Or our pets are rich in people. Time will tell.
