shoe yay for new kitteh. He is a handsome fella.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, woe, and bother I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life can be just so difficult!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Official COuntdown: 30 days until retirement!

Middle of the night here (0640) and I’m wide awake for some reason. :frowning: Back when I was a baker I had to be at work at 0400 four days a week (0300 on Saturdays, 0200 every second or third Sunday) – glad I don’t have to do that any more!

shoe and boofae, only black cat I’ve ever known was named Smudge.

flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon

No walkies this morning - it’s raining and it’s supposed to continue for several hours. I was going to plant the bulbs my mom sent me - maybe I can get them into the ground this afternoon. This gives me some time to decide where to put them.

No bath issues last night because there was no bath. But Roxy did NOT want to go to bed and much screaming ensued. When I got up this morning, her door was open, which means she crawled into bed with Mama and Papa. Things should be really interesting when they move into the new house and she has all new furniture. But it won’t be my problem at that point.

I need to inventory the fridge today. There are at least 2 containers in there of unknown origin - belonging to Daughter et. al. - and I know I’ve got some leftovers in there also. I may also run a mop over the kitchen floor since I didn’t do it last weekend as I’d planned. Beyond that, whatever happens happens.

Happy Wednesday!!

I has a blurf… events of last night, including the paintpocolypse, shall have to wait…

I know not too long ago someone here told how to make text bigger and smaller, but searches have been fruitless. Please remind me! I’ll make a note this time!!

Thanks ever so…

Thanks! I thought I’d tried that, but obviously not.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cool and drizzly morning.
No daycare today since they went yesterday. Just as well that we went to the park because Lily is back.
Her mom just got back from vacation, so it was a happy reunion for all the pups.

I have to call the vet today to reschedule. They have to be emergency visits only for two weeks, then they can open again. I want to get Echo in there before she comes into heat again.

Congrats on you new kitty, Shoe.
Good luck with the name. Adam was called Cat Cat for so long that that is what he answers to. Adam is short for A Damn Cat.

Don’t know what I am doing today.

Morning all. I think I’m going over to a local place and be tested for COVID. Mind you, I have NO SYMPTOMS and have been minding myself for the past several months, but I am going to start coaching youth soccer in about 2 weeks, and it seems a prudent thing to do before I get out there with 20+ 8-11 year olds (coaching 2 teams) and their parents. So I’m going to do it (I think).

Foot is doing better, did some stretching and more movement, that seems to be putting the muscles or whatever I pulled back in place, about 90% normal walking now.

50-60% chance of rain today and tomorrow, but bright and N.O.S. this morning.

Have read all (nice kitty purp) but retained little, so onward into the Hump day.

Fingers

MetalMouse - daughter was just tested, since they’ll be having in-person classes. She’s clean. And lest anyone get in a tizzy about her school opening - it’s a small private school and I think there are fewer than 40 students across 7 grades. Plus it’s a junior Naval Academy, so discipline and rules are a big part of the curriculum - social distancing shouldn’t be much of an issue. And students are given the remote-learning option if the parents prefer. It’s going to be an interesting year…

I don’t know what happened, but I just finished cleaning the fridge and the pantry. Some stuff has been tossed, and the rest has been organized. Once the kid is down for her nap, I think I’ll clean the kitchen floor. But till then, chillage.

We had thunder and it’s still raining steadily. I wonder how this will affect all the on-going road repairs? The bridge nearest us is still out of commission, leading to a 7 mile detour to get to Leonardtown, or a 10-mile detour going the other way. So I don’t go to Leonardtown much, but that’s where Daughter works, so she’s kinda stuck.

More than any of you care about, right?

Good morning, all.

I’m at the super fancy-schmancy car wash getting the car cleaned inside and out. Hasn’t been done since lockdown started in March. Need to get the bird poop scrubbed off before it eats holes in the exterior. When I lived in the country, I had NO trees, therefore no birds sitting above the car all day pooping on it. Of course, the downside was the relentless sun baking the finish. Oh, for covered parking…

Head screwed on correctly this morning–so far–and minimal leg pain. Makes me happy. I’m going to go get some groceries for the pantry when the car is done. I’ve been stocking it 3X per week. Not filing it up, but about half full.

Purple, for the kitty, how about “Licorice”? Think of all the great nicknames that can erupt from that! :smiley_cat:

Can’t connect to my orifice computer. OpenVPN connects, but Microsoft Desktop Connect doesn’t. I had a cow-orker restart my PC, and I’ve restarted my Mac. I have an email (via Office online) to Help. I have entirely too much to do for this to happen. :frowning:

Isn’t that the purpose of the MMP?

MissOwl - well, yeah…

Still raining. Roxy and I just finished lunch. With luck, she’ll nap soon, tho her Papa is up now, so he’ll take over the wrangling and I can attack the kitchen floor. Rah.

Didn’t walk today, but cleaning the kitchen floor was definitely a workout! Took out all of the furniture, rugs, and miscellany on the floor, vacuumed, including getting into crevices with the crevice tool, scrubbed several nasty areas of baseboard with a scrub brush, then sponge-mopped the floor, pausing occasionally to scrub particularly icky spots with a scotch-brite pad. The kitchen fan is on, but considering how humid it is today, I don’t expect it to dry very fast.

Roxy is napping, as is SIL. I made FCD a sammich and he went back to his office. I’ve now got some quiet time, without Abby Hatcher or Gigantosaurus. Blessed silence!!!

Well, I’m in. IT took control of my Mac. They didn’t do anything I didn’t do, but they were able to connect from here and now I’m able to connect from here. Three hours of my day gone. :frowning:

Afternoon all. I have been tested and while it took nearly 90 minutes for a 5-6 second procedure, glad I’ve done it. Not as uncomfortable as it has been described (I was expecting the swap to be shoved nearly to my brain stem, but while uncomfortable it wasn’t quite that far…). 5+ days to get results, so I’ll try to stay inside as much as possible.

Dishwasher is completing it’s cycle, so need to put the dishes away and also take out the trash and recyclables for Thorsday pickup, but that can be done later.

FCM, if you’d like to come work on my kitchen floor…

flyboy, glad you got the systems people to get it working. And who needs lunch or dinner anyway if you need to catch up…

OK, need to catch up on things. All y’all take care.

My kitchen floor got cleaned the usual way. I spilled something (this time it was water from the pasta I was draining), so I had to clean the floor. Ever so often I have to actually clean it because of accumulated dust, but that sometimes seems to be rare.

After days of rain and humidity, the air has dried out and it’s getting cooler at night. I’m not ready for summer to end. I hope we have a long, mild autumn, especially if it means we can sit outside in the evening.

Decided to try a hard-boiled egg with a “dipping” sauce made up of tartar sauce with a bit sweet chili sauce. So not a deviled egg, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Now I’m going to go back to reading a book. We got Netflix in June and have been watching way too much television. Especially if there’s books to be read.
