HALP! I have no idea what to name my new puppy

So I thought I was getting a basset hound, but the basset guy screwed me over. Fate intervened and I’m now the proud new mommy of a 6 week old Shar-Pei.

Female, full blooded. What on earth am I gonna name her? I’m open to any and all suggestions; I’d prefer a 2+ syllable name if possible. Given how sharp her little puppy teeth are, though, I’ve seriously considered naming her Jaws.

More pics to follow, probably tomorrow …

Sharpie?

Wrinkles McCuteypants is probably just too obvious.

Raisin.

Since she’s so wrinkly, how about Phyllis? Ms Diller was always going on about her wrinkles.

She’s adorable! I like the name Raisin too, it’s perfect for her!

Ruffles

This looks like a good moment for me to recommend Dr. Ian Dunbar’s method for dealing with puppy biting. It worked REALLY well when I had occasion to use it.

Daisy. I dunno why, she just *looks *like a Daisy.

Gaspode! (Hey, it’s good enough for a PTerry hero dog!

Nugget.

cutiepie

Guylian (as in chocolates. Pronounced Ghee-lee-an for anyone who’s unsure…!)
Puck.
Or Audrey.

Just don’t name him John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.

That’s my name.

Scheherazade

And I have no idea why.

YES! I’d like to change my answer to this, please. It sounds snuffley-wuffley, yet elegant and ladylike. And you can call her Sherry, for short, which is also perfect to describe her coat color.

Penelope

Noodles.

Her coat looks like mink to me, so I tried it out in google translate to find a good sounding name. The Basque “Bisoi” is appealing to me, although the Dutch “Nertz” amused me more than I’d care to admit.

The Chinese (which was the one I was hoping to like) was a sound my American ear almost can’t differentiate - something close to “gao.”
