My little puppy is 10 and a half months old. He’s finally stopped all the annoying puppy tricks and actually prefers to go outside to relieve himself now. And those razor sharp puppy teeth are long gone.
And a 2 syllable name is preferred. The dogs respond better to them.
My first thought after looking at Puppy’s picture was: Cowardly Lion, Wizard Of Oz.
But “Lion” isn’t a very good name for a dog. Perhaps a variation on that theme?
(Cute pup, BTW)
I have an ori-pei and I wanted to name him Winkles, but I let my son name him. So I got a Mackie. Since I was pet sitting when he was born, his owners were in Hawaii, I say it’s short for Macadamia Nut.
Safety tip: raisins are poisonous* to dogs, so it’s okay to NAME her that, but don’t let some fool feed her raisins because he/she thinks it’s cute.
*It’s somewhat more complicated than that – the situation is not fully understood last I heard, but some dogs have died from eating a few grapes or raisins. Whether it depends on the variety of grapes, some pesticide used, or something about production has not yet been determined. Better safe than sorry.
After observing her interacting with our other dog, I ended up naming her Moxie. She’s a tiny little thing and Sammy is about 5 times her size right now but she gives as good as she gets, pouncing after him with her little crocodile mouth. She’s got moxie in spades
ETA: on here AND on my Facebook, people overwhemingly recommended Lola. I nearly named her after my weight loss surgeon, but his name is the same as my next door neighbor’s so I figured every time I yelled the puppy’s name outside my neighbor might think I’m calling for her.
