HALP! I have no idea what to name my new puppy

I had a dog named Charlie and the new neighbor named Charlie was not amused. The dog didn’t care.

Ha! Friends in Berlin had a beautiful Lab that they named “Otto”…all was fine until they moved into a rather expensive rental house in a nice area of Berlin and let the dog out in the back yard. As they were yelling, “Otto! Otto!” suddenly their new landlord looked out the door and asked what they wanted, somewhat irritated.
Yep - his first name was Otto. This was doubly embarrassing as Germans rarely call each other by first name, so you can imagine how fun it was to yell for “Otto”, knowing it was pissing off their landlord every time they did so.

I know a shar-pei named Mocha.

Beautiful dog, sweetest animal I’ve ever known, and VERY attached to her people. We’ve dog-sat for her a few times and while she’s perfectly happy to be with us, the minute that door bell rang it was like “you? beenniceokthxbyeZOOOM”.

They do grow into their skin - just a few wrinkles around the face when they’re full-grown.

Oh, and SQUEEEEPUPPYFACE!!!

After seeing an old episode of The Twilight Zone* with characters named Buck and Medea, I’ve wanted to have a couple of small spaniels with those names.

Mrs. J. is not crazy about “Buck”, thinking that if we have to call the dog, people will think we are using bad language. Medea should be fine, though.

*it starred Martin Milner, which only made it creepier.

Moxie is an adorable name. I like to let my pets name themselves…so we have Trouble, Vivian, Tucker, Sally, Six, and Bobbin. And Hot Rod, but someone else named him.
I hope my next dog is named Tony.

Winnie. (A small allusion to Winston Churchill, who she looks like, and to her wrinkles.)

Hollie. (A reference to an essay called “Welcome to Holland” popular in the parents of children with disabilities community. The idea is that someone was planning to go to Italy but when they got off the plane they discovered they were in Holland instead. Not what they had been planning but they discovered Holland is a pretty great place. You were expecting a basset.)

Xiao Di (Show -rhyming with Ow - Dee) Chinese for little one. Or Xiao Po - Little old woman.
