Hal's Coin-Toss Dinner

The “coin-toss” here is whether this will be the most disgusting dinner I’ve ever eaten, or the most delicious.

You see, we got yet another menu stuck in our door this morning. Generally these are from one of the hundreds of Chinese food places around here, but this one was different. A new place – Jimi’s Main Street Cheesesteaks – has just opened up down the road. Mmmm mmmm mmm, I do love me some cheesesteaks! My wife (geez, I love this woman) suggests we try it out, so I start looking through the menu. And this is what I find…

FATMESS
Steak, Pizza Sauce, Mozarella Cheese, Mozzarella Sticks & Fries On A Fat Steak Roll

Everything there sounds excellent, but all mushed up together on a roll? Hmmm…this oughta be interesting.

Dinner is on its way…I’ll report back later.

“What’s not to like? Custard, good. Jam, good. Meat, gooooood.” - Joey

“Fatmess”? “Fat Steak Roll”? At last – truth in advertising!

Well…You’ve had almost three hours…How was it?

Was it

It sounds like it should be  , but then I love everything bad for you.

My god that sounds delicious. It’s got cheese ON fried cheese. drool.

It was…pretty good. The fries actually detracted from the whole experience. Everything was either delightfully chewy or nicely crunchy, but every now and then I’d hit a pocket of fries. Sitting inside all those juices turned the fries into mush. Plus, they were kinda cold.

I’d have it again (after I run a marathon or three to work off this last one), but I’ll definitely tell them to hold the fries next time.

Oh yes, the menu didn’t say it, but it was slathered with mushrooms and peppers too. Cool by me.

Ooo, almost forget – holy crap, this thing was huge. 2.5 hours later, and I’m still feeling stuffed.
