Musk yesterday commented on the protests for the first time. Apparently the protestors are just ignorant “puppets”, and the real problem isn’t the puppets but the “puppet masters” who control them. He didn’t specify who the puppet masters are.

We had about 1,000 people at ours, which is pretty good. Lots of cars honked in support, including one Tesla. The rest seemed to be trying to go past us as quickly as possible, though no one booed them, since people around here have bought them for years. (The manufacturing plant is in our town.) We did boo the few cybertrucks we saw - those people should know better.
As someone who bought a Tesla in early 2024, I am pleased that the hate is now explicitly for Teslas bought since around the first of the year and, of course, the trucks.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some right-wingers who take it upon themselves to attempt violence at one of these rallies. But I like to picture them being swarmed by peaceful lefties so that they’re unable to break any windows (or whatever they’d planned to do).
MAGA types may be telling themselves that all those millions were actually not opponents of their hero, but merely ‘paid actors.’ But as they look at the images of the huge crowds, they must be having trouble believing their own propaganda.

If the stock market keeps going down (despite apparently rallying a teensy bit today), there will be plenty of people out. And today also, I believe, Fascism Barbie (WH Press Secretary whatserface) said that Trump was going to be having US citizens kidnapped and sent to El Salvador. Just 'cuz he knows his widdle Supreme Court won’t say a word about it.
That should bring out a few people, too.

Did anyone here see the story about the nursing home residents who couldn’t attend any rallies, so they staged one of their own? They probably weren’t the only ones.
The retirement portfolios of the oldsters I saw on the 5th will likely be worth a lot less come April 19.

They’re waiting to see whether anybody makes a fuss. And when the deported turn out not to be repeated violent criminals – well, gee, sorry, but it’s too late now, can’t possibly bring them back!
(I will say that the article you link didn’t say that he said he wanted to have them kidnapped off the street, but that he said he loved the idea of having them sent there from prisons.)
